Alert for Riders on the Southwest Path
Madison Gas & Electric (MG&E) will be replacing overhead power lines on their poles in the Southwest Path corridor between Odana Rd and Glenway St from Monday, May 20 - June 14. The path will remain open for use, but bicyclists will be requested to walk their bikes through the narrowed sections.

Closure & Detour for Capital City Path between Sugar Ave (Olbrich Gardens) & Walter St
The drainage ditch along the Capital City Path will be stabilized starting November 14, 2012. The path will be closed & detoured from Sugar Ave (Olbrich Gardens) to Walter St.

Madison Installs First Bicycle Rest Area
Madison's first bicycle rest area was installed on the Capital City Path near its junction with the Yahara River Parkway Path. The rest area has two benches, bicycle parking for 5 bicycles and a bicycle repair station including an air pump. Across the path is a water fountain and a map of area bicycle facilities. -
City Adds Color to Bike Lane Conflict Areas
Green coloring has been added to the bicycle lane on E. Johnson St through the Pinckney St intersection. This will also be added to other high bicyclist-motorist crash locations.

On-Street Bicycle Parking Corral
Madison's first on-street bicycle parking corral was installed August 17, 2011 on the 100 block of King St near the Main St intersection. The corral provides parking space for 10 bicycles in what had been one car parking space.
