Project Description

The proposed project is located on University Avenue adjacent to the Hill Farms State Office Building on the west side of Madison. The State Department of Administration is currently redeveloping the Hill Farms site and included with the redevelopment is the construction of a new access point to University Avenue to mitigate the expected increased traffic volumes from utilizing other adjacent local streets.  The project will construct a new signalized intersection on University Avenue approximately 450 feet west of N Segoe Road to allow left and right turns into and out of the Hill Farms Site. The project is managed by the State of Wisconsin.

Lane closures on University Ave will be necessary for the project.  Two lanes in each direction will be maintained during peak traffic hours.  A minimum of one lane of traffic in each direction will be required at all other off-peak times.  The westbound ramp to Old Middleton Road will be closed for a portion of the project.  While the westbound ramp is closed, vehicles will be detoured back to Old Middleton Road utilizing University Avenue and N Whitney Way.  Bike lanes on University Avenue will be detoured utilizing Eau Claire Ave, Sheboygan Ave and Segoe Road.
