Early Saturday morning, around 3:20 a.m., Madison Police were called to a substantial battery that had just occurred inside an apartment building in the 500 block of University Avenue. Witnesses say the victim was just inside the lobby doors of the building when he was punched several times by an apparent stranger. The victim was knocked unconscious, and transported by ambulance to a hospital. He did not appear to have significant injuries. Police were told prior to the attack the man who threw the punches yelled something at the victim. One witness quoted him as saying: "Who do you know here?" A couple of people chased after the criminal, but he was able to run out a door and get away. |
