MISSION: Hears appeals regarding decisions made
by the Inspection Unit Dir. of the Dept.
of Planning and Development and the Fire
Marshall refusing to grant a modifica-
tion of the provisions of MGO Chapters
27, 29 and 34 (Bldg. & Fire Code)
which cover the manner of construction
or materials to be used in the erection,
alteration or repair of a building or
structure, or variance of the rules
contained therein. Appeals are heard
when it is claimed that the true intent
of the codes or the rules legally
adopted have been incorrectly interpre-
ted, the codes do not fully apply, that
any provision may cause a manifest in-
justice to be done, that compliance time
set is unreasonable or an equally good
or better form of construction can be
used.
