| Neighborhood Description: | The Mayfair Park neighborhood (formerly Sycamore-MacArthur) is nestled off of East Washington Avenue and North Stoughton Road. Built up in the late 1950s, the neighborhood has modest single-family ranch homes on quiet, tree lined streets. Several multifamily units are located throughout the neighborhood providing for housing choices within this choice neighborhood. Mayfair Park neighborhood has a sleepy, rural feel to it brought in part by the high level of neighborliness by its residents. The recent reconstruction of East Washington Avenue has provided opportunities for the redevelopment of aging shopping center sites. New businesses are opening offering a new array of shopping venues within walking distance of Mayfair Park neighborhood. |
