Profile, Statistics and Indicators
Neighborhood Description: The North Star Neighborhood (formerly the McClellan Park Neighborhood) is located on the East Side of Madison, Wisconsin. Our neighborhood includes the Grandview Commons, Covered Bridge, Birchwood Ridge, Rustic Acres, and Jubilee subdivisions. Single-family homes, condominiums, and apartments provide housing options for all ages and income levels. For those that like the principles of traditional neighborhood design, one area of the neighborhood has craft architectural design, front porches, and alleys. North Star, McClellan, and Galaxy Parks offer playgrounds and recreational activities for visitors. Our active neighborhood hosts numerous activities and community events for residents and friends. A summertime live-music fest (North Star Fest) was introduced in 2021, the Capitol View Farmers' Market held on Wednesdays from 3:00-7:00pm from late May through mid-October.
Neighborhood Boundaries: Milwaukee Street on the north, Sprecher Road on the east, Cottage Grove Road (County BB) on the south, and Interstate I-90 on the west - Includes Grandview Commons, Covered Bridge, Birchwood Ridge, Rustic Acres, and Jubilee
Neighborhood Statistics Indicators: The Neighborhood Indicators Project is a demonstration of key characteristics and various indicators that relate to the quality of life in Madison at the neighborhood level. Basic neighborhood information as well as housing, public safety, health and family well-being, economic, and transportation indicators by neighborhood is available.
Neighborhood Events: North Star Fest (live music fest); Capitol View Farmers' Market; 4th of July Celebration; Halloween Celebration; Winter Solstice Event; Winter Social for residents.
