Profile, Statistics and Indicators
Neighborhood Description: Mostly single-family homes built 1920's - 40's; quiet; friendly; tree-lined; well-kept; few sidewalks; mix of education levels and incomes in the neighborhood; has wildlife; walkable; stores - including an Ace hardware store, Mounds, Habitat for Humanity ReStore, and Farm & Fleet; Pinney Library (across Cottage Grove Road); restaurants, taverns and the VFW; dog-friendly; near Lake Monona and San Damiano Park.
Neighborhood Boundaries: Cottage Grove Road on the north, U.S. Highway 51 (South Stoughton Road) on the east, Monona Drive on the west and on the south along a line adjacent to Monona Golf Course continuing along Ruth Street.
Neighborhood Statistics Indicators: The Neighborhood Indicators Project is a demonstration of key characteristics and various indicators that relate to the quality of life in Madison at the neighborhood level. Basic neighborhood information as well as housing, public safety, health and family well-being, economic, and transportation indicators by neighborhood is available.
Neighborhood Events: Annual Membership and Pizza Party winter, annual picnic summer/fall, Earth Day Clean-Up, neighborhood garage sale, and other activities during the year.
