2013 Reservations can be made beginning November 15, 2012.
Reservation Lottery System on November 15, 2012
-
A number lottery system will be used that morning to ensure fairness for the patrons wishing to reserve the more popular shelters and summer weekend dates. Numbered tickets will be distributed beginning at 7:30a.m., with the drawing to begin promptly at 8:00a.m. Phone-in reservations will begin at 11:00a.m. Because of the lottery system, it will not be in anyone's best interest to arrive at the Madison Parks office before 7:30a.m.
-
Only ONE ticket per reservation is allowed. This is for fairness to all of the other people trying to make a reservation for their special day. Failure to abide by those rules may result in losing your reservation.
-
Long-standing annual special events will be reserved in advance of the Park Shelter reservation date. Those 2013 event dates will be posted on the Madison Parks website by November 5, 2012 for the 2013 season.
-
Please note that on November 15, full payment for the shelter reservation and permits are due on that day.
Madison Park Shelters are available for rental from mid-April through early October.
Whether you're looking for a reception hall for a formal wedding or a carefree outdoor shelter for your next family reunion, the Madison Parks shelter reservation system offers a variety of scenic locations that can accommodate a gathering of any size or budget!
Fully equipped with picnic tables, restroom facilities, electrical outlets, lights and water, a Madison Parks shelter is a great place for a family reunion, company gathering or even a wedding reception. With most park shelters located near playgrounds, athletic areas, bike paths, beaches and boat launches, entertainment is just a step away.
Reservations can be made in person or over the phone in late fall for the following year. Please remember that your shelter reservation entitles you to exclusive use of the shelter, but not the park. Parks staff highly recommend that you visit your location of choice prior to reserving a shelter.
Parks that do not have shelters may be used for small ceremonies or parties without a reservation. However, to ensure your day is special, please call Madison Parks in advance and we will alert you to any scheduled events, parties or other celebrations.
Alcohol-Free parks are Brittingham, Demetral, Reindahl, James Madison, Lake Edge and Tenney Parks. You must have a beer permit in order to have alcohol at your event. The alcohol must be contained within the shelter and is allowed only in conjunction with a reservation and the permit. For more information, see the
Madison General Ordinance 8.24.
There is a high demand for Park shelters so don't wait to reserve your date!
