Rallies and Marches on State Street
Are you organizing a rally
and/or march down State Street?
If so, you will need the following permits from the City and the State.
1. Most organizers have
the initial gathering or staging for the march at the Podium (a.k.a. Library Mall.) If the
gathering time is 12:30-1:30 or 5:00-7:00 p.m, AND amplification is needed an/or
you want exclusive use of the space, an Amplification
Permit is necessary.
2. To have a
"March" component, you will need a Parade Permit from the City of
Madison Police. Click here for the Parade
Permit.
3. If you are planning to
have activities (such as speeches, music, etc.) on the Capitol grounds, you
must contact the Capitol Police for a Buildings and Grounds Permit. Please
