The Police Department has the largest City
budget. In addition to management of
payroll and purchasing, the Finance Section develops the annual budget. It also oversees numerous Federal and State
grants as well as managing special revenue for short-term projects. The Department utilized grant and
special fund revenue for a wide-range of efforts including traffic initiatives,
funding officer positions, purchasing equipment, supplementing
intensive law enforcement efforts, providing additional training,
and improving technology.
