I have been working as a police officer for over 20 years. I started out of college and have been fortunate to work with citizens in the state of Colorado and Wisconsin. I knew I wanted to be a police officer when I was really young, maybe 9 or 10 years old. I really enjoy talking and learning new things about people and I really want to help others who are going through a challenging time in their life. My goal at the end of a call is make sure I have heard everything from everyone involved and make sure everyone understands why I came to the conclusion I did.
After the military, I went to the University of Colorado in Boulder. I love the outdoors and Colorado was the perfect place for me. I enjoy all sports and I really love playing football, hockey and working out. I love to eat good food and I love Madison because of the great food scene. I often go to Badger and Packer football games and love to watch UW Women's Hockey team. Their skills outweigh the brute force seen in men's hockey. Coming to Madison Police Department was a coming home for me because I grew up here. In the future, I hope I can continue to help others and make changes in the justice system to make it more fair and equitable for all citizens.
In the future, I hope to continue my education and work on policy when it comes to justice and equity. Being in the Capitol City, it gives me an opportunity to work and interact with people who are doing this at the State level and above.
