My name is Kraig Kalka and I have been with the city of Madison Police Department for four years. During that time I have mainly worked in patrol in the Central District and have worked both daytime and overnights. I am currently assigned as the State Street Neighborhood Police Officer. I truly love what I do and I am honored to work for such a great department. I love working downtown because it is so diverse and it is host to so many different activities.
Prior to becoming a police officer I was a high school teacher for nine years. I earned both my bachelors and master's degrees from UW-Stout. I believe that my previous career prepared me for all the challenges that we face as officers. When I am not at work I love spending time with my family and truly love the outdoors. I am also a very avid Packers and badgers and Brewers fan.
