On Tuesday, 6/12/2018, The Madison Police Department has been fortunate enough to host a celebrity. Many would think of a celebrity for being great in performing music or television/movies, but Tyler "Donut Boy" Carach is a celebrity for genuine care, concern, and kindness. 10-year-old Tyler got the bright idea to show his appreciation for police officers, all over The United States, by coming to police departments from Albuquerque New Mexico to Las Vegas Nevada, and providing doughnuts to each and every officer. Tyler's goal was not only to buy a doughnut for each officer (using his allowance to start this program), but to personally thank them for the work that they do on a daily basis; a job that often does not get noticed for the good deeds that are done. Tyler, to date, has handed out more than 65,000 doughnuts in more than 31 states, and he is coming to Madison Wisconsin.
Tyler, along with his mother (former police officer), will be on site at The Madison Police Department's Training Center (5702 Femrite Drive, Madison WI 53718) from 8am – 10am on June 12th, 2018. This worthy event is starting to take flight, and officers plan to be in attendance; as not to disappoint Tyler and the good work that he is doing. The media is cordially invited, as we believe that this is a story of grand proportions. It is not every day that you have a 10-year-old make such efforts to show this level of compassion, and we are looking forward to meeting this young man. Please see links below for additional information about Tyler and what he has been up to in the past 2 years.
