Extra Traffic Enforcement in November

The Madison Police Department, in partnership with the Dane County Sheriff's Office, will be providing extra patrols that specifically enforce alcohol and seatbelt laws throughout the month of November. These additional enforcement efforts are made possible through traffic overtime grants provided by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

Did You Know?: In the U.S., about one-third of all traffic crash deaths involve drunk drivers. Last year in Wisconsin, 169 people were killed and 3,303 injured in alcohol-related crashes. Also in 2017: more than 28% of Wisconsin traffic fatalities were alcohol-related; and there were 24,211 OWI convictions.
