OWI Enforcement - E Washington Ave

The Madison PD will be conducting an enhanced traffic enforcement project Saturday evening in the area of E Washington Ave targeting drunk drivers.

According to the WI DOT, in 2019 alcohol-related crashes killed 140 people in Wisconsin and injured 2,918.

Please slow down, buckle-up, and drive sober.

These additional enforcement efforts are made possible through traffic overtime grants provided by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation

On Saturday night officers stopped 17 vehicles on E Washington Ave for speeding.  Officers focused in the area of 1400 E Washington Ave (30 MPH Zone).  Highest recorded speed for the night was 54 MPH in a 30 MPH zone.
