On Wednesday, 7/21/21, Officers from the Madison Police Department conducted an enhanced enforcement project on the Beltline. The project focused on speeding and other hazardous driving behaviors.
During the project officers conducted a total of 24 stops, 22 of which were for speeding and 2 for vehicles driving without their headlights on. All speeding violations were for vehicle traveling at least 15 MPH over the posted speed limit (55 MPH) and the highest speed recorded was 85 MPH.

These additional enforcement efforts are made possible through traffic overtime grants provided by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and conducted in partnership with the Dane County Sheriff's Office.
