Greetings!
Over the past week, we have seen an uptick in thefts from autos (TFA) in the Midtown District. These incidents often involve thieves targeting unlocked vehicles, taking valuables left inside, or rummaging through cars that are parked overnight in driveways or on the street. While these crimes are opportunistic, they can be prevented with a few simple steps. We encourage all residents to lock their vehicles, even when parked at home, and to avoid leaving valuables such as electronics, purses, or bags in plain sight. Additionally, parking in well-lit areas or in driveways, if possible, can help deter thieves. Students, if you are traveling for the holidays, remember to secure your property and valuables. Lock your doors and have friends or neighbors check in on your residence while you are away.
As always, we ask the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity they notice near vehicles or in their neighborhoods. If you see someone acting suspiciously--checking car doors, loitering near parked vehicles --please contact the police immediately. Your awareness and quick action can help us prevent further thefts and keep our community safe. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
