On Tuesday afternoon, officers from the MPD South District, South Distirct Community Policing Team and Federal agents from the U.S. Marshall's Service, arrested Van C. Jackson, 29 yoa, on several outstanding felony bench warrants from Dane County Circuit Court. Mr. Jackson was pulled from an apartment closet by officers where he was found hiding from agents and officers. One of the oustanding warrants was for a Delivery of Cocaine charge stemming from Mr. Jackson's persistent drug dealing from this same apartment located in the 700 block of W. Badger Road earlier this year. In April 2014, South District command sent a formal "Drug Nuisance Abatement" letter to the property owner making the owner aware of Mr. Jackson's arrest and drug dealing activities at this same location.
Residents may have noticed several squad cars in the area of W. Badger Road and S. Park Street while Mr. Jackson was being taken into custody this afternoon. No one was injured during today's operation. MPD officers conveyed Mr. Jackson to the Dane County Jail without further incident and served the bench warrants on him. He will remain incarcerated pending his next appearance in Dane County Circuit Court.
