On April 30th, 2015, the newly created Burglary Crime Unit ventured out to the streets with one main objective: to bring awareness to community reference open garage door burglaries. Around 5PM, 5 Detectives, 1 Detective Sergeant, and 2 Analysts made their way to sections of the community that have seen an increase in these types of burglaries. Over a three hour period of time, over 60 residences with open garage doors were contacted and awareness was made. As always, it is recommended that all persons keep their valuables secure when they are not in use.
