The information provided below about some of the calls officers responded to is derived from notes provided by MPD Officers-In-Charge (OIC) at the end of their shifts. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered by an OIC from those in the field who were actively working cases. The OIC is sharing what they were being told, in the moment. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as officers, detectives and investigators continue their work.
From 6:00 a.m. on 11/23/2020 through 6:00 a.m. on 11/24/2020, MPD received 346 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (46), East (82), Midtown (53), North (51), South (34), West (45), and Other (35). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

EAST: Theft from Vehicles – 8:30 a.m. Officers responded to a business where an employee reported that multiple vehicles in their lot had been entered over the weekend. No damage reported. Unknown if items were stolen from the vehicles at this time. Investigation continuing.
CENTRAL: Death Investigation – 10:18 a.m. Officers responded to check the welfare of a subject (69-year-old male). Entry was made to the residence and the subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious observed.
EAST: Disturbance – 10:32 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 30-year-old male suspect regarding a drug deal. The suspect physically assaulted two subjects/victims with a bat. The suspect was arrested/charged with domestic disorderly conduct while armed.
NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 1:36 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted due to a vehicle/driver making aggressive/illegal lane changes. The driver/suspect (35-year-old male) was found with open intoxicants in the vehicle. The suspect was arrested/charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (5th offense).
CENTRAL: Residential Burglary – 3:00 p.m. Officers responded to a residence for a report of a break in to a vehicle and items from the vehicle missing (including a firearm). The vehicle had been locked and the window was broken. Investigation continuing.
MIDTOWN: Check Person – 5:16 p.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was located and released to the care of his family. Officers disengaged.
EAST: Stolen Vehicle – 6:30 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
NORTH: Check Person – 7:00 p.m. Officers received a request to check on the welfare of a possible suicidal subject who is also wanted for a previous assault. Areas checked. Subject/suspect not located.
EAST: Check Person – 8:06 p.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was located and conveyed to a local hospital for an evaluation. Journey Mental Health consulted. The subject was voluntarily admitted and officers disengaged.
EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 9:23 p.m. Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance between two subjects (female victim and 44-year-old female suspect). The suspect was arrested/charged with domestic battery and disorderly conduct.

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 12:31 a.m. Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance between two subjects (male victim and 25-year-old female suspect). The suspect punched the victim in the face causing injury. The suspect was arrested/charged with domestic disorderly conduct and battery.
EAST: Intoxicated Driver – 2:34 a.m. Officers responded to Milwaukee St/E. Washington Ave for a report of a vehicle that struck a light pole. The driver/suspect (25-year-old female) was determined to be impaired. She was arrested/charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (2nd offense).
