The information provided below about some of the calls officers responded to is derived from notes provided by MPD Officers-In-Charge (OIC) at the end of their shifts. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered by an OIC from those in the field who were actively working cases. The OIC is sharing what they were being told, in the moment. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as officers, detectives and investigators continue their work.
From 6:00 a.m. on 02/09/2021 through 6:00 a.m. on 02/10/2021, MPD received 353 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (42), East (80), Midtown (57), North (59), South (34), West (52), and Other (29). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 3:02 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance between two subjects (male victim and 32-year-old female suspect). No one answered the door when officers responded. Officers could hear arguing and made entry to the residence to check the welfare of those home. The suspect was arrested/charged with domestic disorderly conduct.
CENTRAL: Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 8:21 a.m. A stolen vehicle was located abandoned/unoccupied. Sun Prairie PD notified as the vehicle was stolen from their jurisdiction.
NORTH: Child Abuse – 10:56 a.m. Officers responded to a report of child abuse of two children by their father. Child Protective Services plugged in. No safety concerns identified at this time. Investigation continuing.
WEST: Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 11:18 a.m. A stolen vehicle was located/recovered. Registered owner notified.
NORTH: Death Investigation – 12:52 p.m. Officers responded to a residence to check the welfare of a subject. Entry was made to the residence and the subject was located deceased. The decedent (76-year-old male) had numerous health concerns. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
WEST: Stolen Vehicle – 5:22 p.m. A vehicle was reported stolen. The vehicle was left running, unlocked and unoccupied. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate database.
CENTRAL: Child Neglect – 6:09 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 34-year-old female suspect and two adult victims. The suspect's autistic minor child was observed/contacted and concerns were raised for his overall care/well-being. Child Protective Services notified. The suspect was arrested/charged with substantial battery, child neglect, disorderly conduct (2 counts) and criminal damage to property.
WEST: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 6:27 p.m. A 15-year-old male juvenile was reported as missing/runaway. No immediate safety concerns identified. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.
NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 10:00 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 52-year-old female suspect. The suspect was arrested/charged with disorderly conduct.
EAST: Stolen Vehicle – 10:50 p.m. A vehicle was reported stolen from a convenience store parking lot. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was located/recovered later in the evening. Registered owner notified.
NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 11:44 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance between two subjects (female victim and 42-year-old male suspect). The victim sustained visible injuries. The suspect was arrested/charged with domestic battery, obstructing and an outstanding warrant.

NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 1:03 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance between two subjects (female victim and 30-year-old male suspect). The suspect was arrested/charged with domestic disorderly conduct.
CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 2:48 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 21-year-old male suspect. The suspect was intoxicated and concerns for his mental health were identified. Journey Mental Health consulted. The suspect received a medical clearance and was subsequently arrested/charged with 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety.
