The information provided below about some of the calls officers responded to is derived from notes provided by MPD Officers-In-Charge (OIC) at the end of their shifts. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered by an OIC from those in the field who were actively working cases. The OIC is sharing what they were being told, in the moment. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as officers, detectives and investigators continue their work.
From 6:00 a.m. on 02/25/2021 through 6:00 a.m. on 02/26/2021, MPD received 400 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (62), East (73), Midtown (60), North (61), South (47), West (62), and Other (35). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

MIDTOWN: Mental Health Conveyance – 4:05 am. Officers placed a hospital patient (22-year-old female) into protective custody and assisted with the admission process to the psychiatric unit. (This was a late call that did not make the previous 24-hour cycle.)
NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 8:29 am. During an argument, the suspect (46-year-old male) took the victim's phone and a physical struggle ensued. The suspect pushed the victim down a staircase. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect on charges of domestic disorderly conduct and battery. The suspect remains at large.
NORTH: Drug Overdose – 10:28 am. Officers and MFD paramedics responded to the McDonald's at 4502 E Washington Ave for a suspect (22-year-old male) who overdosed on heroin. Paramedics administered naloxone and revived the suspect. The suspect was cited for possession of paraphernalia and was offered participation in the MAARI program.
EAST: Check Person – 1:50 pm. Officers responded to a residence for a juvenile (14-year-old female) who was possibly suicidal. Officers consulted with Journey Mental Health. The juvenile was left in the care of family members.
WEST: Runaway Juvenile – 5:00 pm. Officers responded to a residence for a juvenile (17-year-old female) who had left home and was possibly suicidal. An ATL was aired and the juvenile was listed as missing.
WEST: Disturbance – 6:19 pm. Officers responded to a residence where the suspect (32-year-old male) was slamming doors, punching mailboxes, throwing items and using racial slurs. The suspect was arrested and charged with damage to property, disorderly conduct, resisting and bail jumping.
NORTH: Drug Overdose – 7:27 pm. Officers responded to the Citgo gas station at 4810 E Washington Ave for a suspect (33-year-old male) who was down in the bathroom. Officers administered naloxone and revived the suspect who was cited for possession of paraphernalia.
NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 9:07 pm. During an argument, the suspect (36-year-old male) shoved the victim to the ground causing abrasions to multiple parts of the victim's body. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct and battery.
WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 9:37 pm. Officers responded to a residence where a suspect was experiencing a mental health crisis. The suspect was placed into protective custody and conveyed to a local hospital for an evaluation. A safety plan was put in place for the evening until the time when the suspect would admit himself to a hospital for treatment. Officers responded a second time to the residence, however, for another disturbance and arrested the suspect for domestic disorderly conduct.
WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 10:31 pm. During an argument, the suspect (27-year-old male) shoved the victim into a wall and punched a plate. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct.

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 12:53 am. During an argument between the suspect (25-year-old male) and victim, the suspect struck the victim and threw items around. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic battery and disorderly conduct.
