The information provided below about some of the calls officers responded to is derived from notes provided by MPD Officers-In-Charge (OIC) at the end of their shifts. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered by an OIC from those in the field who were actively working cases. The OIC is sharing what they were being told, in the moment. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as officers, detectives and investigators continue their work.
From 6:00 a.m. on 06/08/2021 through 6:00 a.m. on 06/09/2021, MPD received 495 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (84), East (95), Midtown (87), North (79), South (48), West (76), and Other (26). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 4:18 p.m. to 5:20 p.m. due to calls for service.
WEST: Damage to Property – 6:12 a.m. A victim reported a known subject/suspect (67-year-old female) threw a rock at her vehicle which chipped her windshield. The suspect was cited for criminal damage to property.
NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 7:06 a.m. Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 42-year-old male suspect. The victim sustained visible injuries. The suspect was arrested/charged with domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct (2 counts) and disorderly conduct.
CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 9:26 a.m. A suspect (27-year-old male) was arrested when he arrived at court on outstanding charges – violating a restraining order and bail jumping (4 counts).
MIDTOWN: Non-Residential Burglary – 10:53 a.m. A business on Tokay Blvd was broken into, copper wire was stolen and some equipment was dismantled. Investigation continuing.
CENTRAL: Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 11:03 a.m. A MPD Parking Enforcement Officer located an unoccupied stolen vehicle on W. Mifflin St. Vehicle recovered.
WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 1:43 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 41-year-old male suspect. The victim sustained visible injuries. The suspect was not on scene when officers arrived. Probable cause developed to arrest/charge the suspect. **The suspect was taken into custody and charged with domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct and bail jumping.
CENTRAL: Hit-and-Run – 4:11 p.m. An officer attempted a traffic stop and the vehicle/driver fled. The same vehicle was later involved in a hit-and-run and several subjects from the suspect vehicle fled on foot. The suspect vehicle was confirmed to be stolen. A gun was located in the vehicle. Investigation continuing.
SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 5:33 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 51-year-old male suspect. The suspect was not on scene when officers arrived. Probable cause developed to arrest/charge the suspect.
NORTH: Intoxicated Driver – 8:19 p.m. An officer observed two drivers arguing at an intersection. Contact was made with the drivers and one driver/suspect (25-year-old female) was found to be impaired. The suspect was arrested/charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence with passengers under the age of 16 (1st offense) and possession of cocaine.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 12:00 a.m. Officers responded to a convenience store on E. Buckeye Rd and met with a victim who reported a disturbance occurred with her boyfriend/suspect. The suspect was not on scene when officers arrived. Probable cause developed to arrest/charge the suspect.
CENTRAL: Intoxicated Driver – 12:34 a.m. Officers responded to a crash on N. Bassett St/W. Johnson St. A driver/suspect (19-year-old female) was found to be impaired. The suspect was arrested/charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).
NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 4:21 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 40-year-old male suspect. The suspect was conveyed to a local hospital for an evaluation/medical clearance due to self-inflicted injuries. Domestic charges forthcoming for the suspect. Investigation continuing.
