The information provided below about some of the calls officers responded to is derived from notes provided by MPD Officers-In-Charge (OIC) at the end of their shifts. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered by an OIC from those in the field who were actively working cases. The OIC is sharing what they were being told, in the moment. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as officers, detectives and investigators continue their work.
From 6:00 a.m. on 09/29/2021 through 6:00 a.m. on 09/30/2021, MPD received 394 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (65),East (77), Midtown (53), North (75), South (40), West (61), and Other (23). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

WEST: Check Person – 8:20 a.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. Subject contacted and conveyed to a local hospital for an evaluation. Final outcome pending.
MIDTOWN: Threats Complaint – 8:27 a.m. Officers received a report of a minor receiving a vague threat via their phone. Limited information obtained/provided.
MIDTOWN: Theft – 9:45 a.m. A handgun was reported as missing. The gun was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
NORTH: Check Person – 11:17 a.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. Subject contacted. No law enforcement action deemed necessary and officers disengaged.
NORTH: Stolen Auto – 1:44 p.m. Officers received a report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was observed later in the day at Reindahl Park. A traffic stop was conducted. The driver/suspect fled on foot and remains at-large. Vehicle recovered.
WEST: Mental Health Conveyance – 2:00 p.m. Officers received a request for a chapter 51 return of a subject. The subject was located and conveyed to a local hospital for a medical clearance. The subject was subsequently conveyed to Winnebago.
WEST: Disturbance – 4:35 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving a 47-year-old female suspect. The suspect was arrested/charged with disorderly conduct and trespassing.
NORTH: Theft from Auto – 5:59 p.m. A handgun was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle. The gun was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
NORTH: Residential Burglary – 6:35 p.m. A residential burglary was reported. A screen was cut and items in the home were moved. Nothing reported stolen at this time.
MIDTOWN: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 9:38 p.m. Officers received a report of a missing/runaway juvenile (16-year-old female). Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.

WEST: Crash – 2:06 a.m. While on a separate call a vehicle/driver/suspect (30-year-old male) struck a squad which had on its emergency lights. The squad was occupied by an officer who sustained minor injuries. Traffic citations forthcoming for the suspect.
