The information provided below about some of the calls officers responded to (Friday morning to Monday morning) is derived from notes provided by MPD Officers-In-Charge (OIC) at the end of their shifts. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered by an OIC from those in the field who were actively working cases. The OIC is sharing what they were being told, in the moment. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as officers, detectives and investigators continue their work.
From 6:00 a.m. on 05/06/2022 through 6:00 a.m. on 05/09/2022, MPD received 1,131 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (222),East (254), Midtown (173), North (208), South (80), West (143), and Other (51). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 4:27 a.m. The victim reported that during an argument, the suspect (29-year-old male) pulled her hair and strangled her. The suspect was arrested for domestic battery, disorderly conduct and strangulation.
WEST: Non-Residential Burglary – 6:10 a.m. Officers responded to a business in the 7400 block of Mineral Point Rd where the owner reported someone had thrown a rock through the front door and taken cash. Investigation continuing.
EAST: Non-Residential Burglary – 9:10 a.m. Officers responded to the 4900 block of Commercial Ave where surveillance video showed two suspects forced entry to a restaurant and stole cash. Investigation continuing.
SOUTH: Intoxicated Driver – 11:12 a.m. Officers responded to Olin Ave and Colby St for a suspect (40-year-old male) slumped over in the driver seat of his vehicle with the vehicle running. The suspect was cited for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).
NORTH: Weapons Offense – 12:26 p.m. Property management reported that after receiving a complaint from a tenant, they reviewed video footage which showed the suspect (29-year-old male) go out on his balcony, point a firearm, and then search for the shell casing. Several tenants reported hearing the sound of a round being fired that evening. Officers contacted the suspect who said he was attempting to scare juveniles who he observed trespassing on a construction site and attempting to enter vehicles. The suspect was charged with discharging a firearm in the city.
SOUTH: Battery – 2:49 p.m. The victim reported while he was parked with his vehicle door open, the suspect (45-year-old male) pulled into an adjacent stall and damaged a mirror on the suspect vehicle. The victim wrote down the plate information for the suspect vehicle. The suspect then punched the victim and fled the scene. Officers located the suspect at his residence and arrested him for physical abuse to an elder.
NORTH: Check Person – 3:20 p.m. Officers responded to the Sherman Plaza shopping center where the subject was talking to himself, stumbling and causing issues in front of multiple businesses. The suspect was cited for trespassing and conveyed to the jail.
SOUTH: Mental Health Conveyance – 3:50 p.m. Journey Mental Health requested that officers contact a subject who was under a Chapter 51 return. The subject was transported to a hospital.
MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 3:51 p.m. The victim reported that during an argument, the suspect (23-year-old male) kicked a hole in the wall and pushed the victim. The suspect attempted to flee from officers and became combative when officers attempted to place him into custody. The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, damage to property, and resisting causing injury.
NORTH: Traffic Crash – 7:04 p.m. A subject was driving outbound on Northport Dr through the intersection of Kennedy Dr on a green light when two children darted into the road. The subject's vehicle struck one child causing minor injuries. No charges have been substantiated for the driver.
EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 7:43 pm. Officers responded to a residence where the suspect (41-year-old male) damaged a family member's property and moved it out of the home and placed it on the curb. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for domestic damage to property. Suspect is at large.
EAST: Disturbance – 11:58 p.m. Officers responded to a residence where two suspects (35- and 38-year-old females) engaged in an argument. One suspect grabbed a frying pan during the argument but did not strike the other suspect. Both suspects were cited for disorderly conduct.

WEST: Found Person – 12:39 a.m. A caller to dispatch reported a child wearing pajamas who she did not know rang her doorbell. Officers checked the area and found an open front door to a residence. The resident confirmed the child was her son. The child was unharmed and was reunited with his family.
EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 12:50 a.m. Officers responded to a residence where the suspect and victim were engaged in a dispute over dog ownership. The suspect (44-year-old male) threw dog food all over the victim's room and threw a bucket at her which struck her in the head. The suspect refused to leave the victim's room and blocked her exit. The suspect was arrested for domestic battery and false imprisonment.
CENTRAL: Intoxicated Driver – 1:22 a.m. Officers checking the Buckeye Lot in the 200 block of W Gilman St noticed a vehicle running with the occupant passed out behind the wheel. When the suspect (30-year-old male) awoke, he was uncooperative with officers. Officers observed him manipulating a firearm and removed him from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded two handguns and a large quantity of THC. The suspect was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense), resisting/obstructing, and possession of THC with intent to distribute. Additional charges may be forthcoming.
?MIDTOWN: Check Property – 3:40 a.m. Officers responded to a residence for a report of two subjects possibly dealing drugs with one subject armed with a handgun. When officers attempted to contact the suspect (23-year-old male), he threw an airsoft pistol down a stairwell as he attempted to flee. The suspect was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting.
SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 4:54 a.m. The victim reported his ex-wife arrived at his residence armed with a knife and slashed all four tires of the victim's vehicle. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect (38-year-old female) for domestic disorderly conduct while armed and damage to property. Suspect is at large.
MIDTOWN: Adult Arrested Person – 7:03 a.m. Officers responded to a residence where a suspect (37-year-old male) who was reportedly involved in a previous incident was located. Officers determined this suspect had an active warrant for his arrest and upon a search of his person officers located a crack pipe. The suspect was arrested on the warrant and cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 2:11 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 26-year-old male suspect. Suspect not on scene when officers arrived. Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located.
NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 2:19 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 27-year-old male suspect. The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct, misdemeanor bail jumping and felony bail jumping.
EAST: Traffic Stop – 3:56 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted and the two occupants/suspects (46-year-old male and 29-year-old male) denied knowing who the other person was. Both suspects consented to be searched. Both suspects were found in possession of drug paraphernalia. Drugs were located in the vehicle. The 29-year-old suspect was arrested for possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and felony bail jumping. The 46-year-old suspect was arrested for possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 4:30 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 19-year-old female suspect. The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and resisting.
NORTH: Mental Health Conveyance – 10:19 p.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. Subject conveyed to a local hospital. Journey Mental Health plugged in. Emergency detention not supported. Final outcome pending.
NORTH: Check Area – 11:10 p.m. Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 4100 block of N. Sherman. No reported injuries or property damage reported. No evidence of shots fired located.
CENTRAL: Found Person – 11:48 p.m. A young child was located alone. Child was reunited with family. No concerns identified.

NORTH: Crash – 2:08 a.m. Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash. An involved subject reported that another vehicle involved left the scene and that the subjects in the other vehicle stole a gun from him. Investigation continuing.
NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 2:29 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving two subjects. A 35-year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants. No other charges substantiated.
NORTH: Arson – 6:06 a.m. Officers responded to a fire in the 2800 block of International Lane. Fire deemed to be an arson. Incident Report on MPD's website completed.
EAST: Death Investigation – 9:12 a.m. Officers responded to a deceased subject (61-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Decedent had medical/health concerns as well as addiction issues. Nothing suspicious identified.
EAST: Death Investigation – 11:29 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (54-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Death self-inflicted. Nothing suspicious identified.
WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 12:29 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 31-year-old male suspect. Suspect not on scene when officers arrived. Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located. **Suspect turned himself in (domestic battery, disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property).
WEST: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 3:14 p.m. A 13-year-old male was reported as missing/runaway. Areas checked. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was located safe and returned home.
SOUTH: Death Investigation – 4:31 p.m. Officers responded to a deceased subject (74-year-old female). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
NORTH: Disturbance – 4:42 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 49-year-old female suspect. The suspect was conveyed to a local hospital where she was admitted and will be conveyed to jail once medically released.
NORTH: Mental Health Conveyance – 5:12 p.m. Officers responded to a secured adult housing facility for a disturbance involving a resident. Resident/subject conveyed to a local hospital. Journey Mental Health consulted. Emergency detention not approved. Final outcome pending. *Plan developed for the care of the subject by a family member. Officers disengaged.
CENTRAL: Disturbance – 6:44 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 32-year-old female suspect. The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting and battery to law enforcement.
EAST: Battery – 9:12 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 26-year-old male suspect. The suspect was arrested for battery to an elder person.
WEST: Check Area – 9:32 p.m. Officers responded to the 7900 block of Tree Lane for reports of shots fired. No reported injuries or property damage. No evidence of shots fired located.
CENTRAL: Check Person – 11:03 p.m. Officers responded to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. Subject conveyed to a local hospital where they were voluntarily admitted. Officers disengaged.

CITY-WIDE: Mutual Aid – 2:08 a.m. Maple Bluff PD was involved in a pursuit. MPD officers assisted with spike deployment. The vehicle successful hit the spikes and came to a stop. One of the occupants attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended. Firearm recovered from the vehicle. Numerous charges forthcoming.
