The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 09/09/2022 through 6:00 a.m. on 09/12/2022, MPD received 1,165 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (253), East (226), Midtown (197), North (187), South (104), West (169), and Other (29). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

09/09

SOUTH: Death Investigation – 6:54 a.m.  Officers responded to the parking lot of a business where a subject was found deceased in his vehicle.  Death appears to be a suicide.  Nothing suspicious on scene.

NORTH: Death Investigation – 8:03 a.m.  Officers responded to Burr Jones Park where a passerby discovered the subject (46-year-old male) deceased.  Nothing suspicious on scene.

EAST: Runaway Juvenile – 8:29 a.m.  A mother reported her 14-year-old son had run away from home.  Attempt to locate aired.  The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.

WEST: Assist Police – 2:08 p.m.  Officers stood by while probation agents searched a residence as a condition of the 56-year-old male suspect's probation.  The suspect was arrested for a probation violation and conveyed to jail.

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 3:19 p.m.  During an argument, the suspect (43-year-old female) dragged the victim and held her down on the ground.  The suspect was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct.

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 3:27 p.m.  The victim reported the suspect (40-year-old male) followed him home and attempted to force his way into the victim's home.  The victim and his roommate successfully fended off the suspect who fled the scene.  Officers located the suspect and arrested him for attempted burglary, disorderly conduct and resisting.

NORTH: Traffic Stop – 4:19 p.m.  Officers observed suspicious driving behavior by a vehicle whose registered owner had a warrant for his arrest.  Officers confirmed that the registered owner/suspect (32-year-old male) was in the vehicle and conducted a stop on the vehicle.  The suspect was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of stolen property.

MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 6:06 p.m.  The victim reported that the suspect (27-year-old male) pushed her against a wall and struck her in the face and head multiple times.  Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for domestic battery and disorderly conduct.  The suspect is at large.

CENTRAL: Battery – 9:29 p.m.  Officers responded to the 500 block of State St where the suspect (40-year-old female) pushed the victim to the ground as she passed her on the sidewalk.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct and physical abuse to elderly.

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 11:34 p.m.  Officers in the area of N Lake St and State St observed three subjects involved in a disturbance.  The suspect (25-year-old male) put one of the subjects in a headlock and punched him.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 11:37 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence for a disturbance involving a 40-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct while armed.

SOUTH: Weapons Offense Shots Fired – 11:42 p.m.  Officers responded to the 300 block of Kent Ln for reports of shots fired.  Officers located fired shell casings in the area.  A bullet went through the window of a convenience store  No injuries reported.  Incident report completed on MPD website.  Investigation continuing.

Priority calls only from 11:17 p.m. to 12:03 a.m. due to calls for service.  

EAST: Battery – 12:32 a.m. Officers responded to the 3000 block of Webb Ave where the suspect (31-year-old female) armed herself with a baseball bat and struck the victim in the stomach.  The victim reported that the suspect then attempted to run the victim over with her vehicle but was unsuccessful.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed, battery and 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety.

CENTRAL: Arson – 1:25 a.m.  Officers assisted MFD firefighters with a fire investigation.  A mattress was set on fire and the fire climbed to an exterior overhang.  MFD has the lead on the investigation.

EAST: Armed Robbery – 5:24 a.m.  Officers responded to a convenience store where a victim reported an unknown suspect held a knife to him and stole his wallet.  Investigation continuing.

WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 7:00 a.m.  The victim reported that during an argument, the suspect (19-year-old male) displayed a handgun and made a threatening statement.  The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct while armed, carrying a concealed weapon, and obstructing.

NORTH: Disturbance Unwanted Person – 7:40 a.m.  Officers responded to a report of an unwanted subject/suspect (31-year-old male).  The suspect was cited for trespassing and conveyed to the jail.

WEST: Information – 9:18 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence where a subject wished to report that her daughter was possibly physically abused by the child's father.  Child Protective Services was notified.  Investigation continuing.

CENTRAL: Damage to Property – 11:50 a.m.  Officers responded to a report of a suspect (57-year-old male) breaking windows.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting and criminal damage to property.

CENTRAL: Sexual Assault – 2:42 p.m.  A victim reported being sexually assaulted.  Investigation continuing. 

WEST: Disturbance – 2:43 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 13-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed and battery. 

WEST: Death Investigation – 4:32 p.m.  Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (infant).  Medical Examiner's Office and Child Protective Services notified.  Nothing suspicious identified initially.  Investigation continuing. 

EAST: Fire Investigation – 4:51 p.m. Officers responded, along with MFD, to a structure fire.  Investigation continuing. 

WEST: Disturbance – 6:13 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 29-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct and possession with intent to deliver THC. 

WEST: Sexual Assault of a Child – 8:50 p.m.  Officers responded to a sexual assault of a child report.  A 42-year-old male suspect was arrested for incest for sexual contact (2 counts). 

NORTH: Check Area – 10:37 p.m.  Officers responded to a 911 disconnect call.  Damage was located to the door to an apartment.  Residence cleared.  Nothing located at this time. 

NORTH: Disturbance – 11:30 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 19-year-old female suspect.  The suspect was arrested for criminal damage to property.   

NORTH: Disturbance – 11:39 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 46-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was not on scene.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located.

Priority calls only from 3:31 p.m. to 11:31 p.m. due to calls for service.  

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 12:10 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 34-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed. 

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 1:20 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 24-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting. 

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 3:15 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 36-year-old female suspect.  The suspect was arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangerment, battery and domestic disorderly conduct.

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 9:10 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 53-year-old female suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct. 

MIDTOWN: Injured Person – 10:22 a.m.  Officers met with a subject at a local hospital who claimed to have been stabbed.  Subject was intoxicated and provided limited information.  Investigation continuing. 

EAST: Death Investigation – 1:53 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (91-year-old female).  Nothing suspicious identified.  Medical Examiner's office responded.   

NORTH: Stolen Auto – 3:41 p.m.  A vehicle was reported stolen.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases. 

MIDTOWN: Mental Health Conveyance – 5:44 p.m.  Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject in need of an emergency detention.  Transport to Winnebago pending. 

SOUTH: Check Person – 6:12 p.m.  Officers responded to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject.  The subject was contacted and conveyed to a local hospital for an evaluation.  Subject voluntary at this time. 

SOUTH: Intoxicated Driver – 8:32 p.m.  Officers responded to a single vehicle crash.  The driver/suspect (36-year-old male) was determined to be impaired.  The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (2nd offense).

EAST: Injured Person – 8:57 p.m.  A victim reported an unknown suspect was showing him a gun when the gun accidently went off. The suspect fled.  Investigation continuing.

SOUTH: Armed Robbery – 2:14 a.m.  Officers responded to a hotel for an armed robbery.  Two suspects entered the hotel demanding money.  One of the suspects implied he was armed, although a gun was never seen.  Suspects fled with cash.  Investigation continuing.
