The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 09/30/2022 through 6:00 a.m. on 10/03/2022, MPD received 1,182 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (255), East (217), Midtown (213), North (206), South (96), West (162), and Other (33). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

09/30

Priority calls only from 7:12 p.m. to 11:25 p.m. due to calls for service.  

WEST: Residential Burglary – 1:11 p.m.  A victim reported unknown suspect(s) entered her residence and stole personal items.  Investigation continuing.

SOUTH: Check Person – 2:06 p.m.  Officers responded to a convenience store on S Park St for a report of a subject with a gun who left in a vehicle.  Officers were unable to locate any subject or vehicle matching the description the caller provided.  Officers located no evidence of a disturbance.

CENTRAL: Non-Residential Burglary - 2:12 p.m.  A business employee reported an unidentified suspect smashed the front window of the business and entered the building but did not steal anything.  Investigation continuing.

WEST: Check Person – 5:49 p.m.  Officers and the CARES team initially responded for a report of a subject who was possibly suicidal.  CARES began transporting the subject voluntarily to the hospital but the subject became uncooperative.  Officers placed the subject into protective custody under an emergency detention and transported him to a mental health facility.

EAST: Disturbance – 5:59 p.m.  Officers responded to a residence where during an argument, the suspect (36-year-old female) tased the victim.  The suspect was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, disorderly conduct while armed, obstructing, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

NORTH: Disturbance – 7:41 p.m.  Officers responded to Warner Park where a subject reported another subject approached her while she was in her vehicle in the parking lot and began pounding on the car and striking her through an open window.  The subject fled in her vehicle and struck two subjects as she drove away.  The two subjects who were reportedly struck did not provide statements.  No charges were substantiated.

EAST: Intoxicated Driver/Fatal Crash – 8:03 pm.  Officers responded to the intersection of USH 12 and CTH AB where two vehicles collided.  The suspect driver (60-year-old male) was cited for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).  This charge is subject to change pending completion of the investigation.  The driver of the victim vehicle succumbed to his injuries.  Incident report completed on MPD website.

Priority calls only from 6:04 p.m. to 9:26 p.m. due to calls for service.

WEST: Strong Arm Robbery – 12:05 a.m.  The victim reported he was walking home in the 3400 block of Manchester Rd near McKee Rd when an unidentified suspect punched him and stole his wallet.  Suspect is at large.  Investigation continuing.  Incident report completed on MPD website.

CENTRAL: Trespass – 1:48 a.m.  The victim reported when she returned home, she discovered the suspect (24-year-old male) lying in her bed.  The suspect was an acquaintance but did not have permission to be in the residence.  The suspect was apparently intoxicated and vomited on the victim's bedding.  Officers established probable cause to charge the suspect with damage to property, disorderly conduct and trespass.  Suspect is at large.

CENTRAL: Stolen Auto – 2:35 a.m.  The victim reported his vehicle was stolen from the 900 block of E Mifflin St sometime during the evening.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.

NORTH: Sexual Assault – 4:02 a.m.  Officers investigated a report of a sexual assault.  The victim later decided she did not want to provide a statement.  A report was done to document information gathered.

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 4:57 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence where the suspect (32-year-old female) was throwing things and pushed the victim.  The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

SOUTH: Theft – 4:57 a.m.  Officers responded to a hotel where the victims awoke in their hotel room to discover the unidentified suspect going through their belongings.  The door to the hotel room had been left propped open.  The suspect fled the scene with several credit cards and other valuables and remains at large.  Investigation continuing.

SOUTH: Battery – 5:48 a.m.  Officers responded to a residence where the victim reported an unidentified suspect punched and kicked him.  Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for battery and disorderly conduct pending positive identification.

MIDTOWN: Intoxicated Driver – 3:46 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a driver who got out of his vehicle and stumbled into some woods.  The driver/suspect (27-year-old male) was contacted and found to be impaired.  The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (3rd offense). 

NORTH: Disturbance – 5:01 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving an 11-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed. 

CENTRAL: Stolen Auto – 5:39 p.m.  A vehicle was reported stolen.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases. 

SOUTH: Weapons Violation – 6:00 p.m.  Officers responded to the 1600 block of Beld St for reports of shots fired.  Shell casings were located.  A round struck a window of a business.  No injuries reported.  Incident Report on MPD's website completed. 

SOUTH: Sexual Assault of a Child – 7:13 p.m.  MPD and Child Protective Services plugged into a sexual assault of a child allegation.  Safety plan developed.  Investigation continuing. 

EAST: Missing Adult – 7:35 p.m.  A 36-year-old female was reported as missing.  Areas checked.  The subject was listed as missing in the appropriate databases. ** Subject located and conveyed to a local hospital for an evaluation.  Journey Mental Health plugged in.  Emergency detention not supported.  Officers disengaged.   

CENTRAL: Check Person – 10:10 p.m.  A subject/suspect (16-year-old male) was observed with a gun and left the area in a vehicle.  A traffic stop was conducted.  The suspect was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and possession of cocaine.  A 20-year-old male suspect was arrested for possession of marijuana.  A third subject was contacted/released.  A fourth subject fled from officers and remains at-large. 

WEST: Disturbance – 11:15 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 33-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting.

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 3:04 a.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 28-year-old female suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and possession of an electric weapon/carrying a concealed weapon. 

CENTRAL: Stolen Auto – 3:20 a.m.  A vehicle was reported stolen.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases. 

NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 9:57 a.m. A 33-year-old male was arrested for violating a restraining order.  The suspect was also served with a stalking letter. 

CENTRAL: Strong Arm Robbery – 2:06 p.m.  A victim reported that two suspects approached him and took his phone from him.  Investigation continuing. 

CENTRAL: Missing Adult – 2:30 p.m.  A 30-year-old female was reported as missing.  Phone ping attempted.  Areas checked.  The subject was listed as missing in the appropriate databases. 

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 2:37 p.m.  Officers responded to a disturbance involving an 18-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was arrested for domestic 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, disorderly conduct and battery. 

CENTRAL: Sexual Assault of a Child – 6:45 p.m.  Officers received a sexual assault of a child report.  Investigation continuing. 

SOUTH: Fatal Crash – 7:17 p.m.   Officers responded to a single vehicle (motorcycle) crash.  The driver was transported to a local hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.   

EAST: Check Person – 8:02 p.m.  Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject.  The subject was contacted and was resistive/physical with officers.  The subject was conveyed to a local hospital.  Final outcome still pending. 

SOUTH: Intoxicated Driver – 8:19 p.m.  Officers responded to a single vehicle crash. The driver/suspect (32-year-old male) was determined to be impaired.  The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (3rd offense).  The suspect's girlfriend (36-year-old female) arrived on scene and caused a disturbance.  She was also arrested and conveyed to jail. 

EAST: Drug Incident – 10:51 p.m.  Officers responded, along with MFD, to a report of a subject down at a residence.  Subject transported to a local hospital in critical condition.  The subject has a history of drug use.  No evidence of drug use however observed on scene.
