The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 11/14/2022 through 6:00 a.m. on 11/15/2022, MPD received 319 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (61),East (62), Midtown (43), North (50), South (30), West (58), and Other (15). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 12:44 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 43-year-old male suspect. Suspect not on scene. Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located. **Tip received about the suspect's location. MPD set up and took the suspect into custody for domestic disorderly conduct, battery, strangulation, intimidation of a victim and burglary. Monona PD also had probable cause for the suspect for felony eluding.
SOUTH: Adult Arrested Person – 7:52 a.m. An officer observed a subject passed out in a vehicle parked at a convenience store. Contact was made with the subject/suspect (52-year-old male) and drug paraphernalia was observed. The suspect was arrested for possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor bail jumping (2 counts) and felony bail jumping.
NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 8:46 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 34-year-old male suspect. The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 11:01 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 46-year-old male suspect. The suspect was arrested for domestic battery.
SOUTH: Armed Robbery – 1:25 p.m. A suspect entered a business and started a disturbance with an employee. The suspect went to a second business and began a second disturbance. The suspect displayed a knife. The suspect physically assaulted a store employee. **The suspect (26-year-old male) was later located and arrested. The suspect was arrested for attempted armed robbery, disorderly conduct while armed (2 counts) and substantial battery.
MIDTOWN: Stolen Auto – 1:59 p.m. A crash occurred on Whitney Way and both drivers/vehicles stopped. The victim was looking over the damage to her vehicle when the other driver/suspect stole her vehicle. The suspect vehicle left the scene with two other subjects. The victim's vehicle was later recovered unoccupied in Janesville.
WEST: Mental Health Conveyance – 7:26 p.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was contacted and transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Final outcome pending.
CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 8:18 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 39-year-old male suspect. The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and substantial battery.
SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 10:59 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 19-year-old male suspect. The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
NORTH: Armed Robbery – 11:10 p.m. A victim reported that while out for a walk a vehicle pulled up alongside him and an armed suspect approached him and told him to empty his pockets. The victim turned over his wallet, phone and car keys. Suspects fled and remain at-large. Maple Bluff PD observed the suspect vehicle and a traffic stop was conducted. The suspects fled on foot. Suspect vehicle towed.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 12:01 a.m. A 44-year-old male suspect was arrested for resisting and felony bail jumping (2 counts).
SOUTH: Disturbance – 1:09 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance. A 25-year-old male was arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. A 15-year-old female was arrested for threats to law enforcement, disorderly conduct and underage drinking.
