The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 11/23/2022 through 6:00 a.m. on 11/24/2022, MPD received 371 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (65),East (70), Midtown (60), North (64), South (41), West (44), and Other (27). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

SOUTH: Traffic Arrest – 2:38 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver/suspect (25-year-old male) was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and possession of cocaine. 

WEST: Death Investigation – 6:24 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (89-year-old female).  Medical Examiner's office responded.  Nothing suspicious identified. 

WEST: Check Person – 7:35 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a subject intentionally consuming a lot of pills in a suicide attempt.  The subject was conveyed to a local hospital where they were voluntarily admitted.  Officers disengaged. 

CENTRAL: Trespass – 7:40 a.m. Officers responded to a report of an unwanted subject/suspect (27-year-old female).  The suspect was arrested for trespassing. 

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 7:42 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 31-year-old male suspect.  The suspect was not on scene when officers arrived.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located. 

CENTRAL: Intoxicated Driver – 11:46 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a crash.  A 21-year-old female driver/suspect was found to be impaired.  The suspect fled the scene.  Officers observed the vehicle/driver and a traffic stop was conducted.  The suspect was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense), hit-and-run and resisting. 

EAST: Death Investigation – 12:16 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (38-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded.  Decedent had a history of mental illness and drug use.  Nothing suspicious identified.   

CENTRAL: Stolen Auto – 2:01 p.m. Two rental vehicles were reported as stolen.  Attempt to locate aired.  The vehicles were listed as stolen in the appropriate databases. 

MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 2:30 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance.  A 29-year-old female suspect was arrested for domestic second degree endangering safety.  A 29-year-old male suspect was arrested for domestic battery and domestic disorderly conduct. 

NORTH: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 3:58 p.m. A 14-year-old female and 12-year-old female were reported as missing/runaway.  Both juveniles have a history of running away.  Attempt to locate aired. Both juveniles were listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.   

EAST: Crash – 6:58 p.m. Officers responded to a crash where a vehicle/driver struck a home.  Witnesses reported the occupants of the vehicle fled on foot.  While officers were on scene, 3 of the 4 suspects returned with their parents. A 16-year-old female admitted to driving and was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a driver's license.  No injuries reported.  Investigation continuing. 

MIDTOWN: Non-Residential Burglary – 10:15 p.m. Officers responded to a business for a report of damage done to the business.  Officers took the report and disengaged.  The business called back after a few hours to report the suspect (43-year-old male) was on scene.  The suspect was arrested for burglary, criminal damage to property and resisting causing injury to law enforcement. 

EAST: Strong Armed Robbery – 11:59 p.m. A victim reported having a gun pulled on him and being robbed of cash and personal items. The victim reported another victim was also present but that victim denied knowing the other victim and refused to answer any questions.  City cameras reviewed and the three subjects were observed but no robbery was captured.  Investigation continuing.

WEST: Adult Arrested Persons – 12:14 a.m.  An officer observed a vehicle that had plates that did not match with it.  The officer approached the vehicle and made contact with the occupants.  Officer detected the odor of marijuana and observed a large amount of cash in the vehicle.  The driver/suspect (23-year-old male) got out of the vehicle and became uncooperative/resistive.  The suspect was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, possession with intent to deliver schedule II, resisting and a probation hold.  A passenger/suspect (20-year-old male) had fled from the vehicle but he has been identified and probable cause is developed to arrest him once he is located. 

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 1:34 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 40-year-old male).  The suspect was not on scene when officers arrived.  Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located. 

MIDTOWN: Assist Police – 3:51 a.m. Officers assisted UWPD with a suspect who fled on foot.  The suspect was apprehended and arrested. UWPD has the lead on this incident.
