The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 12/20/2022 through 6:00 a.m. on 12/21/2022, MPD received 346 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (65),East (69), Midtown (51), North (47), South (42), West (51), and Other (21). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 7:14 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 23-year-old male suspect. The suspect was not on scene when officers arrived. Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect once he is located.
MIDTOWN: Conveyance Mental Health – 8:37 a.m. Officers dispatched for a juvenile expressing suicidal thoughts who ran away from CARES. Juvenile taken to the hospital for help.
NORTH: Disturbance – 8:39 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance between family members. No charges substantiated at this time and officers disengaged.
SOUT: Adult Arrested Person – 10:52 a.m. A 24-year-old male suspect was taken into custody on outstanding charges and a probation/parole hold.
CENTRAL: Sexual Assault – 1:26 p.m. Officers respond to reports of a sexual assault that occurred in January. No evidence collected due to time lapse.
WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 1:33 p.m. Teen threw food at an adult woman during a domestic incident. He was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
CENTRAL: Accident with Injuries – 1:46 p.m. Officers dispatched to a t-bone accident. One driver taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No citations issued.
NORTH: Battery – 3:05 p.m. Argument over money between neighbors turns physical. Suspect arrested for battery and felony warrant.
EAST: Check Person – 4:06 p.m. Police contacted after woman found lying on the side of the road. Woman was highly intoxicated and taken to the hospital for help.
MIDTOWN: Violation of Court Order – 4:38 p.m. A no contact order is in place between a man and woman. Police contacted regarding a custody issue.
NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 5:46 p.m. An argument turned physical between two adult women and one is hit with a bottle of alcohol. Another adult woman tries to intervene as officers respond. She bit an officer while in custody. A juvenile male also attempted to intervene. One adult woman is arrested for disorderly conduct and battery. Another adult woman is arrested for resisting and battery to a law enforcement officer.
WEST: Battery – 5:10 P.M. – Woman injured after running a red light and crashing into another vehicle. She was cited for a red light violation. Non-life-threatening injuries.
CENTRAL: Check Person –9:17 p.m. Officers asked to do a welfare check on a 34-year-old man. Man found deceased inside his apartment. Nothing suspicious found at scene. Autopsy scheduled.
WEST: Sexual Assault –10:15 p.m. Officers respond to report of a sexual assault.
CENTRAL: Traffic Stop –10:17 p.m. Officer attempted to stop a vehicle that sped away. Vehicle later spotted by another officer. Vehicle speeds away again and ends up in Monona. Monona PD chases. MPD officers go to suspect's home and is able to stop his vehicle. Suspect tries to run away but is quickly caught.

WEST: Domestic Disturbance –12:24 a.m. Officers respond to a home for a domestic disturbance. While on scene, a 26-year-old man struck a responding officer in the face. Arrested for battery to police officer, threats to law enforcement and resisting.
CENTRAL: Prowler – 1:04 a.m. Victim called police after noticing a man looking into her window. This is the third time this incident has occurred. Footprints found outside the window by officers.
EAST: Assist Police –1:42 a.m. Wisconsin State Patrol was involved in a pursuit that ended in a crash on the east side. MPD drone team responded and located the suspect hiding in a dumpster. Suspect was wanted out of Milwaukee for second-degree reckless homicide. WSP handling the crash investigation.
MIDTOWN: Death Investigation – 3:17 a.m. Officers dispatched to a home after a woman found unresponsive. Life-saving measures attempted, but unsuccessful. Nothing suspicious located at the scene.
