The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 02/10/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 02/13/2023, MPD received 1,110 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (197), East (217), Midtown (186), North (207), South (103), West (135), and Other (65). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

MIDTOWN: Weapons Offense – 3:35 a.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was reported to be driving erratically on the beltline and following another vehicle. Officers located a handgun in the car. A 19-year-old male subject was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and received two traffic citations.
SOUTH: Check Person – 9:44 a.m. Journey Mental Health requested that officers contact a subject who was under a Chapter 51 commitment and who they were considering placing under an emergency detention. Officers were unable to locate the subject. *Subject later located and taken into protective custody. The subject was conveyed to Winnebago.
MIDTOWN: Mental Health Conveyance – 12:30 p.m. Journey Mental Health requested police assistance with conveying a subject who was under an emergency detention to a mental health facility.
EAST: Missing Juvenile – 12:39 p.m. A mother reported her 16-year-old daughter missing/runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.
CENTRAL: Child Abuse – 3:45 p.m. Officers responded to a report of child abuse. Officers were unable to establish probable cause for any charges. Child Protective Services was notified.
WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 3:59 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 20-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery, disorderly conduct, false imprisonment and intimidation of a victim.
SOUTH: Assist EMS/Fire – 4:14 p.m. Officers responded, along with MFD, to a structure fire. Officers assisted with traffic control. No other police action was deemed necessary.
WEST: Residential Burglary – 4:17 p.m. Officers responded to a residence where a victim reported several unidentified teenaged subjects stole a gaming console. Officers determined the victim had a warrant for his arrest and as such he was conveyed to jail. Investigation continuing.
EAST: Disturbance – 10:38 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 67-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for substantial battery.
NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 11:04 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 49-year-old male subject. Male subject not on scene when officers arrived. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the subject for domestic disorderly conduct once he is located.

SOUTH: Check Person – 1:51 a.m. Officers responded to a residence where a subject was experiencing a mental health crisis. The subject was placed in protective custody and transported to a hospital. Transport to Winnebago completed.
SOUTH: Check Property – 1:32 a.m. Officers responded to the area of S Park St and Plaenert Dr where a caller reported hearing gunshots. Officers located fired shell casings in a parking lot in the 1700 block of S Park St. There were no reports of injured persons and no damage to property was located.
MIDTOWN: Assist Police – 1:53 a.m. Monona PD was pursuing a vehicle when the driver/vehicle crashed and the 23-year-old male subject fled on foot. Officers assisted Monona PD in locating the subject and handled the crash portion of the investigation.
SOUTH: Adult Arrested Person – 2:37 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted and an 18-year-old male driver/subject was arrested for eluding and several traffic citations.
CENTRAL: Sexual Assault – 3:36 p.m. Officers responded to a sexual assault report. Investigation continuing.
NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 3:51 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 32-year-old female subject. Subject not on scene when officers arrived. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once she is located.
WEST: Child Abuse – 8:47 p.m. Officers responded to a report of child abuse. Subject identified but not located/unable to be contacted. Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once his is located.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 2:04 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 21-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.
SOUTH: Disturbance – 7:58 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 23-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and domestic battery.
NORTH: Child Neglect – 9:04 a.m. A young child was called in as being unattended riding their bike and not wearing the proper clothing for the weather. The child was contacted. The child's mother was located at home sleeping. Child Protective Services notified. Investigation continuing.
NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 12:16 p.m. A 21-year-old male wanted subject was taken into custody.
MIDTOWN: Sexual Assault of a Child – 12:25 p.m. Officers responded to a sexual assault of a child report. Investigation continuing.
SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 12:34 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 28-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
EAST: Disturbance – 12:50 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 32-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct, physical abuse to a child, criminal trespass to a dwelling and an outstanding warrant.
CENTRAL: Disturbance – 1:43 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 31-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and felony bail jumping.
SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 2:49 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 23-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct while armed.
NORTH: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 3:30 p.m. A 16-year-old female subject was reported as missing/runaway. The juvenile was located in another town in WI and arrangements are in process for the juvenile to return home.
CENTRAL: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 3:44 p.m. A 17-year-old female subject was reported as missing/runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.
CENTRAL: Sexual Assault – 4:56 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault. Investigation continuing.
NORTH: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 3:44 p.m. A 16-year-old female subject was reported as missing/runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.
EAST: Death Investigation – 7:11 p.m. Officers responded to check the welfare of a subject (63-year-old male). The subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.
NORTH: Sexual Assault – 7:30 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault. Investigation continuing.
NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 7:44 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 30-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery and domestic disorderly conduct.
NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 8:05 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 32-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and substantial battery.
CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 11:23 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 22-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, unlawful use of computerized communication systems, theft, felony bail jumping and a probation hold.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 12:03 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 31-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for criminal damage to property, resisting and bail jumping.
CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 12:03 a.m. Officers responded to a report that an unknown subject (43-year-old male) was in the screened in porch of a residence belonging to the victim. The subject was arrested for criminal trespass to dwelling, disorderly conduct and a probation warrant.
CENTRAL: Traffic Arrest – 1:20 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver (32-year-old male) exited the vehicle quickly, locked the doors and told the officers they were not allowed to search his vehicle. The driver was issued citations for operating while revoked and operating without an ignition interlock device.
