The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 07/18/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 07/19/2023, MPD received 474 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (91),East (89), Midtown (84), North (81), South (50), West (74), and Other (5). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

MIDTOWN: Fire/Fatal Crash – 6:33 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a building fully engulfed in flames. Around the same time a crash on the Beltline at Seminole Hwy was called in involving a motorcycle. A subject was pronounced deceased at the scene. Incidents are connected. Incident Report on MPD's website completed. Investigation continuing.
SOUTH: Crash – 7:32 a.m. A reckless driver was called in on the Beltline. The driver/vehicle struck another vehicle. The driver (21-year-old male) was cited for reckless driving, unsafe lane change and flex lane violation.
MIDTOWN: Disturbance – 11:09 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 45-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and cited for trespassing.
EAST: Disturbance – 1:01 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 58-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed and felony bail jumping.
MIDTOWN: Check Person – 2:24 p.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was contacted and conveyed to a local hospital. Journey Mental Health plugged in. Emergency detention being sought. Final outcome/placement pending.
CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 2:24 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 33-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and disorderly conduct.
CENTRAL: Death Investigation – 3:43 p.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (38-year-old male). Entry made to the residence and the subject was located deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified. Death believed to be caused by an overdose.
NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 8:59 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted and a 25-year-old male driver/subject was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon.
CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 9:42 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 49-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery, disorderly conduct, resisting and felony bail jumping.
NORTH: Sexual Assault – 10:47 p.m. A victim reported being sexually assaulted by a known acquaintance. Investigation continuing.

CENTRAL: Domestic Disturbance – 12:54 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 25-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct.
