The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 07/28/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 07/31/2023, MPD received 1,449 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (280), East (276), Midtown (223), North (252), South (187), West (184), and Other (47). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

NORTH: Stolen Auto – 9:53 a.m. A rental vehicle was reported as not returned/stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
EAST: Check Person – 10:05 a.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was taken into protective custody and conveyed to a local hospital. The subject was issued a 24-hour ban from Olbrich Park Beach. Final outcome pending. *Subject transported to Winnebago by a third-party transport.
EAST: Trespass – 2:14 p.m. Officers received a trespassing complaint involving a 32-year-old male subject (no longer on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.
EAST: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 3:47 p.m. A 13-year-old male subject was reported as missing/runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases. *Juvenile returned home.
WEST: Child Abuse – 4:30 p.m. Officers received a report of child abuse. Investigation continuing.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 12:08 a.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop. A 27-year-old male subject was arrested for possession with intent to deliver cocaine and fentanyl.
CENTRAL: Trespass – 12:09 a.m. Officers responded to a trespassing complaint involving a 41-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for trespassing.
EAST: Threats Complaint – 12:48 a.m. Officers received a threats complaint report. Subjects contacted. No charges substantiated at this time.
NORTH: Disturbance – 1:04 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 19-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.
EAST: Assist Law Enforcement – 4:17 a.m. Officers assisted the Dane County Sheriff's Office with taking a 28-year-old male subject into custody after he displayed a knife at a convenience store. The subject was not cooperative and resisted officers. The subject was transported to jail. The Sheriff's Office has the lead on this investigation.
CENTRAL: Intoxicated Driver – 5:13 a.m. Officers responded to a crash. A 23-year-old male driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).
NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 7:33 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted and an 18-year-old male driver was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon.
NORTH: Mental Health Conveyance – 8:50 a.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was conveyed to a local hospital for an evaluation. Final outcome pending.
CENTRAL: Trespassing – 9:00 a.m. A group of protestors conducted a sit-in style protest at a local bank. Four protestors who refused to leave were cited for trespassing and escorted off the premises.
SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 2:31 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 53-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and a probation hold.
EAST: Check Person – 4:51 p.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was transported to a local hospital where they were voluntarily admitted. Officers disengaged.
MIDTOWN: Adult Arrested Person – 6:23 p.m. Officers responded to a local hospital regarding an intoxicated subject (17-year-old female) with an active capias. The subject was arrested on new charges of battery to law enforcement and disorderly conduct.
MIDTOWN: Adult Arrested Person – 9:50 p.m. A 19-year-old male subject, with an outstanding warrant, was taken into custody and transported to jail.
NORTH: Residential Burglary – 10:13 p.m. A homeowner reported her home was burglarized and items, including a handgun, were missing/stolen. Investigation continuing.
WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 10:14 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 29-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for battery and resisting (2 counts).
MIDTOWN: Check Person – 11:17 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance at a local hospital involving a male subject. Journey Mental Health consulted. An emergency detention was sought and approved. Transport to Winnebago pending. Probable cause also developed to charge the subject. *Transport to Winnebago completed.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 1:33 a.m. Officers responded to a fight involving a 21-year-old male and 28-year-old male subjects. Both subjects were arrested for battery and disorderly conduct.
EAST: Stolen Auto – 7:20 a.m. A vehicle was reported stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 7:55 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 51-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, possession of a controlled substance and a probation violation.
WEST: Check Property – 8:57 a.m. Officers responded to a report of property damage. Damage was determined to have been caused by gunfire. No shell casings recovered at this time.
EAST: Crash – 11:16 a.m. Officers responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash. Two subjects conveyed to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Investigation continuing.
NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 2:11 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 65-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for battery, 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, substantial battery, felony intimidation of a victim, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct.
SOUTH: Mental Health Conveyance – 3:29 p.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was conveyed to a local hospital where she was voluntarily admitted. Officers disengaged.
CENTRAL: Disturbance – 3:35 p.m. Officers responded to report of a male subject physically assaulting another subject. The male subject was not on scene when officers arrived. Investigation continuing.
EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 4:16 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 45-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.
CENTRAL: Disturbance – 6:23 p.m. Officers responded to a road rage incident where a gun was displayed. A 19-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed. An 18-year-old male subject was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a stolen firearm and possession with intent to deliver THC.
WEST: Sexual Assault of a Child – 7:41 p.m. Officers responded to a sexual assault of a child report. Investigation continuing.
EAST: Check Person – 9:25 p.m. Officers responded to check the welfare of a subject. Journey Mental Health consulted. An emergency detention was not supported. Officers disengaged.
SOUTH: Intoxicated Driver – 9:32 p.m. Officers responded to a crash involving an intoxicated driver/subject (38-year-old male). The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).
EAST: Disturbance – 11:06 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a subject being pistol whipped. The victim was conveyed to a local hospital to receive stitches. Probable cause developed to arrest a 50-year-old male subject once he is located.
