The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 08/22/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 08/23/2023, MPD received 401 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (68),East (83), Midtown (72), North (56), South (45), West (64), and Other (13). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 4:12 p.m. to 4:41 p.m. due to calls for service.
NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 5:20 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 35-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct while armed.
EAST: Check Person – 12:14 p.m. Officer received a request to check the welfare of a subject. Investigation continuing.
NORTH: Assist MFD – 1:45 p.m. Officers responded, along with MFD, to a fire. Area evacuated. MPD assisted with traffic. The fire was extinguished.
MIDTOWN: Check Person – 3:18 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a subject who sustained self-inflicted injuries. The subject was conveyed to a local hospital. Journey Mental Health consulted. A safety plan was implemented and officers disengaged.
CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 3:54 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a 37-year-old female subject who broke windows on a house. The subject was arrested for criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct while armed.
MIDTOWN: Check Person – 6:27 p.m. Officers responded to a local hospital for a report of a subject attempting to leave against medical advice. The subject was successful in leaving the hospital. Officers located the subject and transported him back to the hospital. Journey Mental Health plugged in. An emergency detention was sought/approved. Final placement pending.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 1:04 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 34-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.
NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 1:30 a.m. Caller reported observing a subject in their vehicle and flee the area. The vehicle was observed and a traffic stop was conducted. The 30-year-old male driver/subject was arrested on probable cause from a recent incident (no charges substantiated from today's incident).
