The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 10/02/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 10/03/2023, MPD received 457 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (77),East (102), Midtown (80), North (85), South (47), West (62), and Other (4). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 4:27 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 54-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct.
SOUTH: Assist Other Agency – 12:00 p.m. Officers responded to assist Fitchburg PD with a report of a subject on an overpass with a rope around their neck. MPD assisted with traffic control in the area. The subject was safely detained by officers.
EAST: Death Investigation – 12:59 p.m. Officers responded, along with EMS, to a pulseless non-breathing subject (77-year-old male). The subject had a do-not-resuscitate bracelet on. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
NORTH: Traffic Stop – 1:22 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted. The 25-year-old male passenger was the same subject that fled from an officer the day prior. The passenger was asked to step out of the vehicle and he attempted to flee/fight. The subject was arrested for 4 outstanding warrants, probable cause for resisting from the day prior and a new resisting charge.
WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 1:29 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 36-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and a probation violation.
NORTH: Death Investigation – 5:16 p.m. Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (62-year-old female). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 8:36 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 54-year-old female subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject. Subject remains at-large.
EAST: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 8:55 p.m. A 14-year-old female was reported as missing/runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.
EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 10:15 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 41-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject. Subject remains at-large.

EAST: Check Area – 12:48 a.m. Officers responded to several reports of shots fired in the 5900 block of Milwaukee St. Casings located. Two unoccupied vehicles were found to have been struck by gunfire. A fence was found with damage. No reported injuries at this time. Several subjects on scene were not cooperative with officers. Investigation continuing.
