The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 10/11/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 10/12/2023, MPD received 436 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (76),East (95), Midtown (71), North (72), South (50), West (59), and Other (13). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

MIDTOWN: Mental Health Response – 6:35 a.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. Phone pinged. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. The subject was listed as missing/endangered in the appropriate databases.
NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 9:34 a.m. A 31-year-old male subject was arrested on a probation/parole hold.
MIDTOWN: Mental Health Response – 10:36 a.m. A subject, with an active Chapter 51 return, was contacted and taken into protective custody. The subject was conveyed to a local hospital and admitted. Officers disengaged.
CENTRAL: Sexual Assault – 11:14 a.m. A subject reported being sexually assaulted several days ago. Investigation continuing.
WEST: Death Investigation – 12:57 p.m. Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (72-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
MIDTOWN: Death Investigation – 7:29 p.m. Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (62-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office. The decedent had a history of health/medical concerns. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.
CITY-WIDE: Assist Other Agency – 7:32 p.m. MPD assisted Middleton PD with a driver/vehicle that fled from them. MPD SWAT responded after the subject, believed to be armed, barricaded himself in a vehicle. The subject was taken into custody. Middleton PD has the lead on this investigation.
EAST: Check Person – 10:24 p.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a naked subject lying in the roadway. Naloxone administered. The subject was transported to a local hospital and admitted. Investigation continuing.
EAST: Missing Adult – 10:32 p.m. A 44-year-old male subject was reported as missing. Attempt to locate aired. Areas checked. The subject was listed as missing/endangered in the appropriate databases.

SOUTH: Disturbance – 12:07 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 44-year-old male subject (not on scene when officers arrived). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject. Subject remains at-large.
EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 12:36 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 28-year-old male subject who threatened another subject with an axe. The subject was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct while armed.
NORTH: Crash – 1:30 a.m. Officers responded to a vehicle vs. semi crash on Hwy 30. A driver was ejected from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital. Open containers of alcohol and suspected cocaine located in the vehicle/on the driver. Investigation continuing.
