The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 10/23/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 10/24/2023, MPD received 400 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (62),East (72), Midtown (63), North (70), South (43), West (78), and Other (12). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

EAST: Crash – 8:34 a.m. Officers responded to a vehicle vs. building crash. The driver sustained non-life threatening injuries. Charges may be forthcoming due to witnesses observing the driver/vehicle driving at a high rate of speed. Investigation continuing.
EAST: Death Investigation – 9:53 a.m. Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (86-year-old female). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified.
SOUTH: Stolen Auto – 10:12 a.m. A vehicle was reported stolen. The vehicle was left unlocked with a key in it. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
MIDTOWN: Adult Arrested Person – 1:28 p.m. Caller reported that a 23-year-old male subject displayed a handgun while driving. Contact was made with the subject and a handgun was located. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed.
NORTH: Crash – 1:58 p.m. Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash. One subject was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 60-year-old male subject was cited for failure to yield.
EAST: Disturbance – 2:00 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 55-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, battery, discharging bodily fluids and a probation hold.
SOUTH: Disturbance – 2:56 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving an 18-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and issued a stalking letter.
CENTRAL: Check Person – 3:21 p.m. Officers responded to check the welfare of a subject (54-year-old male) who appeared to be extremely intoxicated. When officers arrived the subject wanted to fight them. The subject was arrested for resisting.
SOUTH: Check Area – 7:06 p.m. Officers responded to Bram St for reports of shots fired. Areas checked. No injuries or property damage reported at this time. Shell casings located. Investigation continuing.
SOUTH: Check Person – 10:37 p.m. Officers responded to check the welfare of a subject (34-year-old male). Officers ended up disengaging but responded back after multiples reports of the subject causing disturbances. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.
MIDTOWN: Mental Health Conveyance – 11:59 p.m. A subject was conveyed to Winnebago from a local hospital.

CENTRAL: Intoxicated Driver – 1:40 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted. A 24-year-old male subject/driver was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (3rd offense). A 27-year-old male subject/passenger was arrested on outstanding warrants.
