The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 11/16/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 11/17/2023, MPD received 466 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (82), East (95), Midtown (76), North (88), South (57), West (59), and Other (9). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Priority calls only from 9:52am to 1:10pm and from 6:11pm to 7:38pm due to calls for service.

EAST: OMVWI – 5:18 am. The 58-year-old male driver was merging from E Washington Ave onto I90 when he crossed a median, ripping the front bumper off his vehicle and shredding a tire. Officers and MFD paramedics located the suspect unconscious in his vehicle. The suspect performed poorly on SFSTs and was arrested for OWI 2nd.
CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 6:24 am. Officers made contact with a 26-year-old male suspect who had probable cause for his arrest. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
EAST: Disturbance – 9:11 am. Officers responded to a residence where two female suspects (19 and 20 years of age) had threatened the victim. Both suspects gave false names to police. The suspects were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing.
CENTRAL: Death Investigation – 9:50 am. Officers responded to a retirement home where staff reported a 78-year-old woman collapsed during physical therapy. The woman was pronounced deceased. Nothing suspicious on scene.
MIDTOWN: Mental Health Conveyance – 10:09 am. Journey Mental Health placed a male juvenile under an emergency detention and notified MPD of such. Officers later transported the subject to a mental health facility.
CENTRAL: Stolen Bicycle – 11:52 am. Officers responded to 306 W Main St where a 36-year-old male suspect stole a bicycle. Officers also recovered a stolen moped at this location. This same suspect is alleged to have stolen numerous bicycles recently in the downtown area.
EAST: Runaway Juvenile – 12:00 pm. The father of a 12-year-old girl reported she had run away from her foster home. The juvenile was located by detectives in Florida.
NORTH: Juvenile Arrest – 1:26 pm. Officers located a 16-year-old male suspect who had a warrant for his arrest as well as outstanding probable cause. The suspect was conveyed to JRC.
MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 4:38 pm. Officers responded to a residence where during an argument, the 28-year-old male suspect assaulted the victim. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct, battery, damage to property, trespass, and resisting.
EAST: Stolen Auto – 4:45 pm. Officers took a report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was listed as stolen and an ATL was aired.
EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 4:46 pm. While on routine patrol at the Dutch Mill Park and Ride, officers made contact with a 45-year-old suspect who had warrants for his arrest. The suspect was newly charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, taken into custody and conveyed to jail.
NORTH: Armed Robbery – 5:59 pm. An officer observed a 41-year-old male suspect engaged in short term traffic in a vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. While the officer was at his squad, a passenger in the vehicle pointed a gun at the driver and took cash from the driver's wallet. The unidentified robber fled and remains at large. The suspect driver was arrested on a warrant and newly charged with possession with intent cocaine and multiple counts of bail jumping.
SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 6:38 pm. Officers responded to a residence where the 27-year-old male suspect broke down a door, punched and strangled the victim. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct, battery and strangulation.
WEST: Battery – 10:52 pm. The victim reported that the 25-year-old male suspect threatened to kill her and her baby, prevented her from getting out of his vehicle, punched her and tried to strangle her. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for disorderly conduct, false imprisonment, battery and attempted strangulation. Suspect is at large.

MIDTOWN: Mental Health Conveyance – 1:03 am. Journey Mental Health placed a suicidal female subject under an emergency detention. Officers placed the subject into protective custody and transported her to a hospital.
CENTRAL: Theft from Auto – 2:14 am. Two victims reported their rental vehicle had been rifled through and their phones had been stolen. The 59-year-old male suspect was located and arrested for theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a concealed knife, obstruction, trespass to vehicle and multiple counts of bail jumping.
