City-Wide Notable Calls 12/22/2023 to 12/26/2023

From 6:00 a.m. on 12/22/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 12/23/2023, MPD received 403 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (76), East (74), Midtown (37), North (70), South (62), West (61), and Other (23). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls from 4:02pm to 8:54pm and from 1:12am to 2:42am due to calls for service.

12/22

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 10:00 am. Officers located a wanted suspect. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and transported to jail.

WEST: Adult Arrested Person – 10:56 am. Officers located a wanted suspect and conducted a traffic stop. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and transported to jail.

MIDTOWN: Disturbance – 1:16 pm. Officers responded to a local hospital where a patient was threatening a doctor. Officers consulted with Journey Mental Health. The patient was placed into protective custody under an emergency detention and transported to a hospital.

SOUTH: ATL Person – 3:44 pm. Officers responded to a residence to attempt to locate a wanted 26-year-old male suspect. The suspect fled and officers were unable to locate the suspect who remains at large.

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 3:53 pm. Officers responded to a residence where a 52-year-old male suspect struck a 26-year-old male suspect with a pipe. The younger suspect then broke a window at the residence. The older suspect was arrested and charged with battery and disorderly conduct while armed. The younger suspect was arrested and charged with battery, disorderly conduct and damage to property.

WEST: Missing Adult – 8:22 pm. A woman reported her husband did not show up to pick her up from work. The man was listed as missing and a silver alert was issued. Middleton PD later located the man and he was returned home.

WEST: Stalking Complaint – 10:24 pm. Officers responded to a residence where a victim reported her neighbor was watching her on cameras and had placed items on her porch. The 23-year-old male suspect was cited for disorderly conduct.

12/23

MIDTOWN: Fight – 12:05 am. Officers responded to the Sconnie bar where a fight broke out in the parking lot. One 20-year-old male suspect was identified and charged with battery, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. A second suspect has yet to be identified and remains at large. Investigation continuing.

CITY-WIDE: Assist Police – 1:10 am. Officers assisted Fitchburg PD at the scene of a shooting at Monkeyshines bar and with a traffic crash that occurred shortly thereafter.

MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 4:23 am. Officers responded to a residence where the 33-year-old male suspect smashed a sliding glass door to get into his apartment. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct and damage to property.

From 6:00 a.m. on 12/23/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 12/24/2023, MPD received 284 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (51), East (60), Midtown (34), North (59), South (27), West (44), and Other (9). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

NORTH: Death Investigation – 7:59 am. Officers and MFD paramedics responded to a residence where a 76-year-old woman was pulseless and not breathing. She was pronounced deceased in the ambulance. Nothing suspicious on scene.

SOUTH: Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 9:00 am. Officers recovered a vehicle reported stolen out of Fitchburg. Fitchburg PD and registered owner were notified.

CENTRAL: Information – 1:20 pm. Officers responded to the 100 block of State St where an unidentified suspect left an anti-Semitic display. Investigation continuing.

EAST: Stolen Auto – 5:39 pm. The suspect reported his vehicle was stolen from the 200 block of N Thompson Dr. An ATL was aired and the vehicle was listed as stolen.

EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 6:27 pm. Officers located a 23-year-old male suspect wanted for retail theft. The suspect became combative upon being taken into custody and was newly charged with resisting, resisting causing injury, discharging bodily fluids, and multiple counts of bail jumping.

WEST: Disturbance – 10:05 pm. Officers responded to the 7600 block of Mineral Point Rd for a large, noisy party. Officers did not observe any physical disturbances and continued to monitor the gathering until the crowd dispersed. A property manager requested that a 21-year-old suspect be removed from the premises. Officers discovered a firearm on his person and arrested him for carrying a concealed weapon.

EAST: Missing Adult – 10:24 pm. A woman reported she had not heard from her 38-year-old son. The man was listed as missing and an ATL was aired.

MIDTOWN: Check Property – 11:00 pm. Officers responded to the area of N Gammon Rd and Old Sauk Rd where multiple callers reported hearing gunshots. Officers confirmed that residents were setting off fireworks.

CENTRAL: Disturbance – 12:34 am. Officers responded to Paradise Lounge where a 25-year-old male suspect was threatening staff after being removed from the establishment. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting and possession of methamphetamine.

NORTH: Disturbance – 1:44 am. Multiple callers to dispatch reported a large party with loud music and cars parking in yards and driveways. Officers responded to the area and monitored the scene. Officers contacted the owner of an unoccupied vehicle illegally parked in the area that had a firearm in plain view. No charges substantiated at this time.

EAST: Trespass – 12:55 pm. Officers responded to a residence where the victim reported the 40-year-old male suspect was present without her consent. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for trespass and multiple counts of bail jumping. Suspect is at large.

EAST: OMVWI – 3:11 pm. Multiple callers to dispatch reported a vehicle driving recklessly near the beltline and Stoughton Rd. Officers performed a traffic stop on the vehicle. The 23-year-old male driver performed poorly on SFSTs and was cited for OWI 1st.

CITY-WIDE: Assist DCSO – 4:36 pm. Officers assisted DCSO deputies with an attempt to locate the driver of a stolen vehicle.

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 5:46 pm. Officers responded to a residence where during an argument, a 48-year-old female suspect armed herself with a knife. The suspect was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, disorderly conduct while armed and 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety.

SOUTH: Death Investigation – 6:01 pm. Officers responded to a residence where a 54-year-old male was discovered deceased of an apparent drug overdose.

NORTH: Disturbance – 7:08 pm. Officers responded to a residence to make contact with a female subject who reported that someone broke her car window and pulled a gun on her. When officers arrived, a male subject on scene retreated into a residence, disobeying officers' orders. This suspect was cited for resisting. No other charges were substantiated.

NORTH: Non-Residential Burglary – 9:44 pm. Officers responded to a gas station in the 2700 block of E Washington Ave for an alarm. Video footage showed a 53-year-old male suspect entered the business and stole cigarettes. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for burglary. Suspect is at large.

WEST: Weapons Offense Shots Fired – 10:23 pm. Officers responded to the area of Valley Stream Rd and Schroeder Rd for reports of shots fired. Officers checked the surrounding neighborhood and did not locate injured persons, property damage or fired shell casings.

NORTH: Assist State Patrol – 10:41 pm. Officers assisted State Patrol with taking into custody the driver of a suspect vehicle which fled a traffic stop.

SOUTH: Assist Police – 12:02 am. Officers assisted Monona PD with an attempt to locate a suspect who fled from a vehicle after an attempted traffic stop. MPD officers provided UAS, K9 and perimeter support.

SOUTH: Child Abuse – 4:30 am. Officers responded to a residence where a 34-year-old male suspect punched a child. Officers developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for physical abuse to a child. Suspect is at large.

From 6:00 a.m. on 12/25/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 12/26/2023, MPD received 202 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (34), East (45), Midtown (23), North (51), South (17), West (25), and Other (7). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 12:39am to 1:42am due to calls for service.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 8:00 am. Officers responded to a residence where the 40-year-old male suspect damaged a couch. The suspect was arrested for damage to property and domestic disorderly conduct.

NORTH: Sexual Assault – 8:20 am. A victim reported that the 39-year-old male suspect made inappropriate sexual contact with her. The suspect was arrested and charged with 4th degree sexual assault and battery.

MIDTOWN: Adult Arrested Person – 1:05 pm. The DOC requested that officers take into custody a wanted 67-year-old male suspect. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

NORTH: Armed Robbery – 1:49 pm. The victim reported she was walking in the area of Huxley St and Elka Ln when an unidentified suspect approached her from behind, pushed an object he claimed was a gun into her back and rifled through her pockets. The suspect threw the victim's phone and damaged it. Investigation continuing.

CENTRAL: Stolen Auto – 2:28 pm. A victim reported his car was stolen from the 700 block of Williamson St. The vehicle was listed as stolen and an ATL was aired.

EAST: Assist Fire/EMS – 2:30 pm. Officers and MFD paramedics responded to a residence where an infant had stopped breathing and was unresponsive. The infant regained consciousness and was transported to a hospital. Nothing suspicious on scene.

NORTH: Armed Robbery – 2:37 pm. Officers responded to the 2500 block of Calypso Rd where the victim reported an unidentified suspect pointed a handgun at him and demanded his cash and valuables. Investigation continuing.

SOUTH: Traffic Crash – 8:42 pm. A pedestrian crossing W Badger Rd at Catalpa Rd was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Badger Rd. The driver remained on scene and was cooperative with the investigation which is ongoing.

MIDTOWN: Stolen Auto – 10:05 pm. The victim reported that the 55-year-old female suspect took his car keys and stole his vehicle. Officers located the vehicle shortly thereafter. The suspect was arrested and charged with OMVWOC and possession of drug paraphernalia.

EAST: Attempted Stolen Auto – 10:14 pm. The victim reported he opened the door to his vehicle which was parked on the street at the end of his driveway and an unidentified suspect inside the vehicle pointed a gun at him. The victim fled to safety. Investigation revealed three unidentified suspects had entered the vehicle and were attempting to steal it. The suspects fled the scene and remain at large. Investigation continuing.
