The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Tuesday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 12/29/2023 through 6:00 a.m. on 1/02/2024, MPD received 1,364 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (286),East (258), Midtown (194), North (243), South (138), West (200), and Other (45). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 8:00 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 24-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.
NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 8:18 a.m. A 51-year-old male subject was taken into custody on a probation/parole hold.
WEST: Adult Arrested Person – 8:27 a.m. A 38-year-old male subject was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
SOUTH: Domestic Disturbance – 9:48 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 48-year-old male subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.
SOUTH: Mental Health Conveyance – 12:35 p.m. A subject was taken into protective custody from detox and transported to a local hospital where Journey Mental Health supported an emergency detention. Transport to Winnebago pending. *Transport to Winnebago completed.
WEST: Mental Health Conveyance – 1:53 p.m. Officers received a request to take a subject into custody under a Chapter 51 return. The subject was contacted, taken into protective custody and transported to a local hospital. Final placement pending. *Subject was placed at a local facility and officers disengaged.
NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 1:56 p.m. A 51-year-old male subject was taken into custody on 19 outstanding warrants and a new charge of resisting.
SOUTH: Check Person – 2:58 p.m. Officers responded to check the welfare of a subject walking on the Beltline. The subject was contacted and taken into protective custody. The subject was transported to a local hospital. Journey Mental Health consulted. Emergency detention sought/approved. Final placement pending. *Subject was placed at a local facility and officers disengaged.
MIDTOWN: Check Person – 3:48 p.m. Officers responded to check the welfare of a subject running outside without clothes on. The subject was contacted, taken into protective custody and transported to a local hospital where Journey Mental Health supported an emergency detention. Final placement pending.
NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 5:36 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 34-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct, domestic battery and domestic false imprisonment.
SOUTH: Adult Arrested Person – 8:19 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving an 18-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for battery to an elder, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct.
SOUTH: Intoxicated Driver – 11:14 p.m. A 38-year-old male subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (4th offense) and hit-and-run.
CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 11:36 p.m. A 30-year-old male subject was taken into custody on an outstanding probation/parole warrant and probable cause for theft.

WEST: Sexual Assault – 12:46 a.m. Officers met with a victim who reported being sexually assaulted. Investigation continuing.
NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 9:11 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 29-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery, domestic strangulation and domestic disorderly conduct.
WEST: Missing Adult – 1:46 p.m. A 25-year-old male subject was reported as missing. Attempt to locate aired. The subject was listed as missing in the appropriate databases.
CENTRAL: Battery – 3:21 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a battery. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Investigation continuing.
NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 3:28 p.m. A 24-year-old male subject was arrested on outstanding warrants, misdemeanor bail jumping (2 counts), possession of meth and possession of fentanyl. A 22-year-old male subject was arrested for possession of meth and possession of fentanyl as well.
WEST: Adult Arrested Person – 5:15 p.m. A 30-year-old female wanted subject was located and taken into custody on felony retail theft charges.
MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 5:51 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 40-year-old male subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.
EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 6:38 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 34-year-old male subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.
EAST: Disturbance – 8:18 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 61-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct with a hate crime enhancer.
NORTH: Death Investigation – 9:22 p.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject (60-year-old male). Entry made to the residence and the subject was locate deceased. Medical Examiner's office responded. Evidence of drug use on scene. Decedent has a history of using drugs. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.

SOUTH: Crash – 12:10 a.m. Officers responded to a vehicle vs. traffic light pole crash. No injuries reported. The driver was cited for no driver's license and driving too fast for conditions.
MIDTOWN: Check Area – 1:25 a.m. Officers responded to check the area (600 block of S. Whitney Way) for a report of a subject with a gun. The caller was contacted who was intoxicated and less than forthcoming. The caller's story changed a few times. Cameras in the area checked. No concerns noted/found.
CENTRAL: Traffic Stop – 2:45 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver (36-year-old female) was found to be impaired. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. A 34-year-old male subject showed up at the traffic stop and attempted to intervene. The subject was arrested for obstruction and was released. The driver was found to be in possession of meth/fentanyl and other prescription drugs. Additional charges may be forthcoming.
EAST: Disturbance – 3:56 a.m. Officers responded to a local hospital for a subject who was dropped off with a head wound. Contact made at the victim's residence where interviews are conducted. Investigation continuing.
MIDTOWN: Disturbance – 6:00 a.m. A 77-year-old male subject, refusing to leave a local hospital,, was arrested for trespass to a medical facility.
WEST: Disturbance – 10:03 a.m. A subject showed up at a local hospital reporting he had been stabbed in the arm (superficial cut). The 18-year-old male was found to have an active warrant. The subject was arrested and transported to jail. Investigation regarding the injury continuing.
WEST: Disturbance – 1:49 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 21-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting and throwing/discharging bodily fluids at a public safety worker.
CENTRAL: Trespassing – 5:58 p.m. 5 subjects were cited for unlawful trespassing (42-year-old female, 65-year-old female, 61-year-old female, 53-year-old male and 20-year-old female). The 20-year-old subject was also arrested on an outstanding warrant and obstructing.
SOUTH: Adult Arrested Person – 8:36 p.m. A 19-year-old female subject was arrested by another law enforcement agency and found to have been involved in illegal conduct in the City. MPD served the subject with additional probable cause for strangulation, false imprisonment, battery, intimidation of a victim and disorderly conduct.
CENTRAL: Disturbance – 10:24 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance with a report of a subject having been stabbed. A subject was located with a non-life threatening stab wound and transported to a local hospital. A 32-year-old female subject was arrested for 1st degree recklessly endangering safety, failure to render aid and disorderly conduct (all domestic related charges).

EAST: Intoxicated Driver – 1:06 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted and the 37-year-old male driver was found to be impaired. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (3rd offense) with a passenger under the age of 16 and cited for suspended registration.
CENTRAL: Battery – 1:32 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 27-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for battery, disorderly conduct and resisting.
EAST: Theft – 2:11 a.m. An unknown male subject grabbed a victim's purse and fled on foot. The purse contained a large amount of cash. Investigation continuing.
CENTRAL: Intoxicated Driver – 4:00 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted and the 27-year-old male driver was found to be impaired. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (3rd offense) and an outstanding warrant.
EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 7:00 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 44-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct while armed, battery and disorderly conduct.
WEST: Missing/Runaway Juvenile – 9:47 a.m. An 11-year-old male subject was reported as missing/runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile was listed as missing/runaway in the appropriate databases.
WEST: Domestic Disturbance – 3:33 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 28-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for strangulation, battery and disorderly conduct.
MIDTOWN: PNB Response – 5:23 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a pulseless non-breathing subject (64-year-old male). CCR performed and the subject was transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced deceased. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.
CENTRAL: Disturbance – 5:47 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 45-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.
CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 7:16 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a 42-year-old female subject refusing to leave the premises. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, battery to a law enforcement officer, resisting, obstructing and bail jumping (4 counts).
MIDTOWN: Juvenile Arrest – 8:43 p.m. A 16-year-old male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed and possession of an electronic weapon. The subject was transported to the Juvenile Reception Center.
