The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 1/9/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 1/10/2024, MPD received 340 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (50),East (56), Midtown (76), North (61), South (30), West (61), and Other (6). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Priority calls only from 2:30 p.m. to 12:44 a.m. due to calls for service.
MIDTOWN: Death Investigation – 11:10 a.m. Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (93-year-old female). Nothing suspicious identified.
CENTRAL: Battery – 12:00 p.m. A victim reported being physically assaulted while having his backpack taken from him. Investigation continuing.
CENTRAL: Crash – 12:20 p.m. Officers responded to a crash where the suspect driver ran a red light and struck a metro bus. A passenger on the bus reported being injured but walked away and did not have contact with officers on scene. The driver sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The driver was found to have an active warrant. Charges forthcoming. Investigation continuing.
SOUTH: Missing Juvenile – 12:56 p.m. A 14-year-old male juvenile who was reported missing was located and transported to the Juvenile Reception Center due to a custody order. The juvenile's missing status was removed from the databases.
NORTH: Crash – 1:14 p.m. Officers responded to a vehicle vs. light pole crash. A passenger sustained minor injuries. The driver was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
MIDTOWN: Crash – 2:22 p.m. A vehicle slid off the road and into a subject shoveling their driveway. The subject was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Driver remained on scene and was cooperative.
NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 2:22 p.m. Officers responded to a threats complaint involving a 25-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for unlawful use of a telephone with a domestic enhancer.
CENTRAL: Disturbance – 2:56 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 33-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting and lewd/lascivious behavior.
MIDTOWN: Missing Adult – 5:21 p.m. A 71-year-old male subject was reported as missing. Attempt to locate aired. The subject was listed as missing in the appropriate databases. Silver Alert issued. *Subject located safe by an officer and escorted home.
NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 8:54 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 21-year-old male subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject once he is located.
EAST: Check Person – 9:33 p.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Journey Mental Health plugged in. An emergency detention was sought but not approved. Officers disengaged.
NORTH: Child Abuse – 10:03 p.m. Officers responded to a residence for a report of child abuse. Child Protective Services notified. A 50-year-old male subject was arrested for physical abuse of a child and disorderly conduct.
