The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 2/26/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 2/27/2024, MPD received 459 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (74),East (96), Midtown (72), North (79), South (52), West (77), and Other (9). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 2:36 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 28-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and 3 outstanding warrants.
WEST: Check Person – 5:16 a.m. Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. Subject contacted and transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Journey Mental Health consulted. Emergency detention not needed. Journey working with the subject on a discharge plan.
WEST: Missing Adult – 8:44 a.m. A 74-year-old male subject with dementia walked away from his assisted living residence. Attempt to locate aired. Areas canvassed. The subject was located safe.
NORTH: Assist MFD – 2:06 p.m. Officers responded, along with MFD, to a report of a FedEx truck on fire. No injuries sustained. Fire extinguished.
EAST: Death Investigation – 3:30 p.m. Officers responded to a residence for a deceased subject (39-year-old male). Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.
EAST: Traffic Incident – 3:36 p.m. A driver parked their vehicle but forgot to put it into park. The driver exited the vehicle and the vehicle rolled backwards which resulted in the door knocking the driver down and dragging them. Minor injuries sustained.
EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 9:00 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 28-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.
CENTRAL: Sexual Assault – 9:06 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a 36-year-old male subject assaulting staff at a restaurant. The subject was arrested for 4th degree sexual assault (2 counts) and disorderly conduct (3 counts).
MIDTOWN: Adult Arrested Person – 10:23 p.m. Officers made contact with a 19-year-old male subject due to numerous 911 calls. Journey Mental Health consulted. The subject was arrested for unlawful use of 911.
CENTRAL: Disturbance – 11:00 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a 42-year-old female subject causing a disturbance. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, discharging bodily fluids and threats to law enforcement.
