The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 4/4/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 4/5/2024, MPD received 461 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (87),East (79), Midtown (90), North (79), South (55), West (62), and Other (9). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 7:30 a.m. A 70-year-old male subject was arrested, after a warrant was served, for possession of child pornography (6 counts).

CENTRAL: Threats Complaint – 9:00 a.m. Caller left a vague voicemail (threats) yesterday (not received until this morning). K9 utilized to search the building. No concerns identified. A 71-year-old male subject was given an order-in for terroristic threats.

SOUTH: Damage to Property – 9:10 a.m. Officers responded to a report of an accidental discharge of a shotgun that caused damage to a vehicle. The owner was educated on safe handling of firearms and cited for discharge of a firearm.

WEST: Disturbance – 10:47 a.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 30-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct (2 counts) and a probation hold.

EAST: Road Rage – 11:21 a.m. Officers responded to a road rage incident with a gun being pointed at the caller. High-risk traffic stop conducted on the suspect vehicle that had two occupants. A facsimile firearm was located/taken. A 42-year-old male subject cited for unlawful use of a facsimile firearm.

MIDTOWN: Domestic Disturbance – 2:06 p.m. Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 33-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

NORTH: Unwanted Persons – 4:00 p.m. Officers responded to a business for two unwanted subjects (41-year-old female and 41-year-old male). The male subject was arrested for threats to law enforcement, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and bail jumping (2 counts). The female subject was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and bail jumping.

EAST: Domestic Disturbance – 5:07 p.m. Officers met with a victim who reported domestic violence involving a 52-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic strangulation, domestic disorderly conduct, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (2nd offense) and an outstanding warrant.

WEST: Child Neglect – 7:21 p.m. Officers responded to a report of two young unattended children outside with a dog. The children led officers to their residence where there were no adults, furniture, food, or water. There were feces, urine, and soiled diapers all over the floor. Child Protective Services responded and took custody of the children. A 26-year-old female subject (mother) returned to the residence as officers were on scene. She was arrested for child neglect. The dog was turned over to the humane society.

SOUTH: Intoxicated Driver – 8:19 p.m. Officers located a wanted subject (32-year-old male) inside of an idling vehicle in a parking lot. The subject was found to be impaired. The subject was arrested for probable cause for domestic-related charges and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (1st offense).
