The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to from Friday morning to Monday morning. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 5/10/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 5/13/2024, MPD received 1,454 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (328),East (265), Midtown (229), North (221), South (163), West (200), and Other (48). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

North/Mental Health Response – 1:27am: Officers responded to a local hospital for suicidal subject (49-year-old male). Journey Mental Health plugged in. Emergency detention not approved. The subject was cited for resisting.
North/Crash – 7:54am: Officers responded to a rollover crash involving two vehicles. A 30-year-old female driver was cited for red signal violation. No serious injuries sustained.
Central/Non-Residential Burglary – 8:19am: Officers responded to a report of an overnight burglary at a business. A window was removed from the business. Merchandise stolen. Investigation continuing.
East/Recovered Stolen Auto – 2:41pm: A stolen vehicle was tracked and disabled. Officers performed a high-risk traffic stop. The 24-year-old female driver/subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent, battery to law enforcement, felony bail jumping, carrying a concealed weapon, and an outstanding warrant.
West/Death Investigation – 3:01pm: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (54-year-old female). Medical Examiner's office responded. Evidence of drug use observed. Nothing suspicious identified at this time. Autopsy pending.
Central/Crash – 4:02pm: Officers responded to a vehicle vs. bicycle crash. A 58-year-old male subject was cited for unsafe lane deviation. No serious injuries sustained.
South/Disturbance – 4:36pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 23-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, battery, misdemeanor bail jumping and misdemeanor intimidation of a victim.
Midtown/Disturbance – 6:27pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 33-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed.
West/Intoxicated Driver – 7:19pm: Officers responded to a report of a vehicle vs. rock retaining wall crash. It was reported that the driver (34-year-old male) fled on foot. EMS was dispatched to a separate call regarding a subject laying on a walkway. This subject was confirmed to be the driver. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence and hit-and-run.
East/Stolen Auto – 7:32pm: A vehicle was reported as stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases. *Vehicle located/recovered.
East/Runaway Juvenile – 8:38pm: A 13-year-old female subject was reported as a runaway. Attempt to locate aired. The juvenile has a history of running away. The juvenile was listed as a runaway in the appropriate databases. *Juvenile located.
South/Road Rage – 9:25pm: Officers responded to a road rage incident involving a 39-year-old male subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject. The subject remains at-large.

Central/Disturbance – 12:22am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 24-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for attempted battery to law enforcement, disorderly conduct, and resisting.
East/Check Area – 3:03am: Officers responded to the 200 block of N. Thompson Drive for a report of shots fired with a vehicle fleeing the area. Area canvassed. Casings located. No injuries or property damage reported at this time.
South/Found Child – 1:17pm: Officers responded to a report of a young child outside, unattended, and dressed in only a diaper. Parent located. Child Protective Services notified. The 32-year-old female subject (mother) was issued a felony order-in for child neglect.
East/Disturbance – 4:06pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 60-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed and a probation violation.
South/Disturbance – 6:26pm: Officers responded to a report of a 29-year-old female subject under the influence stumbling around outside. The subject was arrested for an outstanding warrant, resisting, and threats to law enforcement.
West/Domestic Disturbance – 9:15pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 21-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for domestic strangulation, disorderly conduct, and bail jumping.

West/Disturbance – 12:37am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 23-year-old male subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject. Subject remains at-large.
Central/Disturbance – 1:19am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 20-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting, obstructing, attempted battery to law enforcement, and bail jumping.
Central/Adult Arrested Person – 2:14am: Officers responded to a report of a 28-year-old male subject exposing himself. The subject was arrested for lewd/lascivious behavior and disorderly conduct. He was also arrested on outstanding charges from another jurisdiction (eluding, resisting, and a probation/parole hold).
Central/Sexual Assault – 3:19am: A victim reported being inappropriately grabbed by an unknown male subject. Investigation continuing.
North/Adult Arrested Person – 6:19am: A 35-year-old male subject, wanted, was taken into custody on a DOC hold and outstanding charges.
North/Recovered Stolen Auto – 10:15am: A stolen vehicle was recovered and towed.
Central/Stolen Auto – 11:06am: A vehicle was reported stolen by a known acquaintance (43-year-old male) to the victim. Vehicle was located in Lake Mills. The subject was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent.
North/Disturbance – 12:41pm: Officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving two subjects (20-year-old male and 19-year-old female). Neither subject was on scene when officers arrived. Charges substantiated for both subjects, who remain at-large.
East/Domestic Disturbance – 1:53pm: Officers responded to a disturbance. A 21-year-old female subject was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct. A 21-year-old male subject was arrested for 2nd degree reckless endangering safety, disorderly conduct, and carrying a concealed weapon.
South/Domestic Disturbance – 1:55pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 36-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
East/Injured Person – 4:49pm: A subject was struck by a tree that fell during a storm. The subject was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
Midtown/Domestic Disturbance – 6:37pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 29-year-old female subject. The subject was arrested for domestic battery.
North/Attempted Homicide – 9:26pm: Officers responded to Reindahl Park for shots fired. A victim was located with gunshot wounds. Officers provided life-saving aid to the victim, who was transported to a local hospital. Two subjects were detained. A 45-year-old male subject was arrested for attempted homicide.
East/Disturbance – 9:38pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 21-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct.

A 24-year-old male subject and a 26-year-old female subject were arrested for battery, resisting, and disorderly conduct. The female subject was also arrested for battery to law enforcement.
