The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.

From 6:00 a.m. on 5/21/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 5/22/2024, MPD received 639 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (82),East (126), Midtown (138), North (101), South (71), West (103), and Other (18). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

East/Check Person – 8:02am: Officers responded to a disturbance. A subject was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Journey Mental Health plugged in. Final outcome pending.

North/Adult Arrested Person – 9:42am: Officers responded to the airport reference a wanted subject attempting to flee the State. The subject fled in a vehicle. DCSO attempted a traffic stop and a pursuit ensued (MPD not involved). The subject crashed the vehicle and fled on foot. The subject was taken into custody with the assistance of a K9. Charges forthcoming.

North/Fight Call – 12:28pm: Officers responded to N. Fourth St/E. Johnson St for a report of approximately 20 juveniles physically fighting. 15-year-old male subject received a restorative justice referral for disorderly conduct. 15-year-old male subject received a restorative justice referral for resisting and disorderly conduct. 16-year-old male subject received a restorative justice referral for disorderly conduct. 16-year-old male subject received a restorative justice referral for disorderly conduct. 16-year-old male, 17-yaer-old male, and 15-year-old female all received restorative justice referrals for resisting.

North/Death Investigation – 1:20pm: Officers responded to a report of a deceased subject (48-year-old male). Evidence of drug use on scene. Medical Examiner's office responded. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.

North/Domestic Disturbance – 1:42pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 24-year-old male subject (not on scene). Probable cause developed to arrest the subject. Subject remains at-large.

East/Child Neglect – 3:39pm: Officers responded to a juvenile complaint. The mother reported her son was a danger to her but could not articulate why. CARES responded. The juvenile was transported to Briar Patch to wait for his father to pick him up. It was then learned that the father could not arrive until Wednesday. The mother was re-contacted and she refused to have her child back at the residence. CPS contacted. Officers contacted numerous resources. Ultimately the mother paid for an Uber to get her child to his father. The mother (34-year-old female) was cited for misdemeanor child neglect for refusing to have the child back in her home/care.

Central/Check Person – 4:17pm: Officers received a request to check the welfare of a subject. The subject was placed into protective custody and transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Final outcome pending. *Emergency detention sought/approved. The subject was transported to Winnebago.

Central/Domestic Disturbance – 11:19pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 43-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for resisting, domestic battery, disorderly conduct and bail jumping.

Central/Adult Arrested Person – 11:39pm: A 54-year-old female subject was arrested for possession of stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia and bail jumping.
