The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 6/5/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 6/6/2024, MPD received 493 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (85),East (104), Midtown (89), North (75), South (52), West (76), and Other (12). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

North/Recovered Stolen Auto – 6:55am: Officers responded to a report of a vehicle idling, unoccupied and with its airbags deployed. Vehicle determined to be stolen. DCSO notified.
East/Stolen Vehicle – 7:03am: A vehicle was reported stolen from an apartment complex's parking lot. Key was with the vehicle. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
Central/Mental Health Conveyance – 7:56am: A subject was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant. The subject was transported to a local hospital for a medical clearance and it was determined that Journey Mental Health wanted to pursue a Chapter 51 return. Transported to Winnebago pending. Subject will be turned into the jail on outstanding charges upon return from Winnebago. *Transport to Winnebago completed.
East/Check Person – 12:55pm: Officers responded to check the welfare of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was transported to a local hospital. Journey Mental Health plugged in. Subject voluntary at this time. Officers disengaged.
Midtown/Disturbance – 1:58pm: Officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving a 47-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and misdemeanor bail jumping.
Midtown/Check Person – 6:17pm: Officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving a young child. Child has a significant history of trauma and attacked their foster parents. The child was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. All resources/options exhausted. The child was ultimately transported to Winnebago for an emergency detention.
North/Domestic Disturbance – 11:56pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 51-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for substantial battery, disorderly conduct, resisting, and false imprisonment.
