The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 06/06/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 06/07/2024, MPD received 446 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (93), East (82), Midtown (66), North (79), South (50), West (67), and Other (9). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.
Priority calls for service only from 11:00am to 6:20pm and from 1:38am until 6:00am.

SOUTH: Juvenile Arrest – 4:14 am. A 15-year-old female reported that a man had tried to coax her and her sister into having sex with him. Officers determined that this allegation could not be substantiated and that the 15-year-old was listed as a runaway and had a warrant for her arrest. The suspect was referred to restorative justice for obstructing and conveyed to JRC.
NORTH: Domestic Disturbance – 8:21 am. The victim reported that the 29-year-old male suspect was intoxicated and broke her phone during an argument. The suspect fled the scene in his vehicle and was located by police. The suspect was arrested and charged with domestic damage to property, disorderly conduct and OWI 2nd.
WEST: Disturbance - 9:30 am. Officers responded to a parking lot for a disturbance. A 25-year-old male suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct while armed and carrying a concealed weapon. A second 25-year-old male suspect was arrested on a parole violation. Additional drug related charges are pending. Investigation continuing.
SOUTH: Traffic Crash – 10:34 am. An officer heard a loud crash in the area of Beld St and Kenward St. The suspect vehicle was later located at Goodman Park on Olin Ave. The 21-year-old female driver performed poorly on SFSTs and was arrested for OWI 1st.
SOUTH: Traffic Crash – 11:44 am. While the victim was traveling outbound on Packers Ave on his motorcycle, the suspect vehicle turned left in front of him and collided with the motorcycle. The 64-year-old female driver was determined not to be under the influence of alcohol or other drugs. Investigation continuing.
WEST: Disturbance – 1:18 pm. Officers responded to a residence where a 55-year-old male suspect was yelling and brandishing a firearm. Officers determined the firearm was a facsimile. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct while armed, disorderly conduct, possession with intent to deliver THC, and threats to LE.
SOUTH: Accident – 3:19 pm. Officers responded to the Lake Farm Park boat launch where a boater had rescued a woman who was struck by a train while fishing on a bridge. The woman was transported to the hospital.
MIDTOWN: Mental Health Conveyance – 5:13 pm. Officers assisted Journey Mental Health with an emergency detention.
EAST: Suspicious Person – 7:21 pm. Officers responded to Kwik Trip on E Buckeye Rd where the manager reported seeing a wanted suspect who had attempted to pass counterfeit bills at another Kwik Trip location. The suspect vehicle fled an attempted traffic stop. Officers developed probable cause to charge the 18-year-old male suspect for fleeing/eluding, bail jumping and numerous traffic violations. Suspect is at large. Investigation continuing.
CENTRAL: Information – 10:43 pm. Officers made contact with a man walking towards the capitol armed with a shotgun in an apparent open carry demonstration. Officers determined the man did not pose a threat to public safety and disengaged.

CENTRAL: Homicide – 1:33 am. Officers responded to the 1300 block of Williamson St where a victim of a gunshot wound was found deceased. Investigation continuing.
