The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 6/24/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 6/25/2024, MPD received 430 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (70),East (78), Midtown (81), North (61), South (65), West (61), and Other (14). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

Central/Battery – 4:49am: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 58-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for battery, resisting, and a probation hold.
Midtown/Stolen Auto – 5:33am: A vehicle was reported as stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
Central/Sexual Assault – 9:06am: A victim reported being sexually assaulted the night before. Investigation continuing.
Midtown/Check Person – 9:50am: Officers responded to a report of a subject with a gun. The subject was contacted. CARES plugged in. No weapons located. Officers disengaged at this time.
North/Adult Arrested Person – 9:50am: A 34-year-old male subject was arrested on an outstanding warrant/probation hold.
Midtown/Stolen Auto – 9:56am: A vehicle was reported stolen. Attempt to locate aired. The vehicle was listed as stolen in the appropriate databases.
East/Crash – 12:19pm: Officers responded to a vehicle crash involving a vehicle on fire. A subject was pulled from the vehicle. This subject was not cooperative with officers. Investigation continuing. *This incident was determined to be a medical event.
North/Disturbance – 12:46pm: Officers responded to a report of a subject not allowing 3 other subjects to leave the residence. A knife was brandished. Officers and negotiators responded. The subject was detained without incident. The subject was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. Emergency detention sought/approved. The subject was subsequently conveyed to Winnebago. Criminal charges also forthcoming.
Midtown/Death Investigation – 1:43pm: Officers responded to a report of a subject (59-year-old male) down. Lifesaving measures attempted but not successful. Nothing suspicious identified at this time.
South/Disturbance – 5:56pm: Officers responded to a disturbance involving a 32-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Midtown/Crash – 7:26pm: Officers responded to a vehicle vs. motorcycle crash. The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Other driver remained on scene and was cooperative. Investigation continuing.
Central/Stalking Complaint – 10:05pm: A victim reported being stalked. Probable cause developed to arrest the suspect (at-large). Safety tools discussed with the victim.
North/Recovered Stolen Auto – 11:23pm: A stolen vehicle was located/recovered unoccupied in a parking lot.
