The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 06/26/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 06/27/2024, MPD received 513 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (90), East (90), Midtown (87), North (78), South (65), West (92), and Other (11). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

MIDTOWN: Theft from Auto – 6:25 am. A victim reported that a handgun was stolen from her vehicle sometime overnight. Investigation continuing.
SOUTH: Death Investigation – 8:22 am. Officers responded to a residence to check the welfare of a 58-year-old woman who did not show up for work. Officers discovered the woman deceased. Nothing suspicious on scene.
MIDTOWN: Assist EMS/Fire – 8:48 am. Officers responded to the 7100 block of Mineral Point Rd where a gas line was struck during construction. Officers assisted with traffic control until the leak was controlled.
MIDTOWN: Disturbance – 2:40 pm. Officers responded to the Probation and Parole office where staff requested assistance with an uncooperative client. The 27-year-old male suspect became combative with officers. He was arrested and charged with battery to LE, substantial battery, disorderly conduct, and resisting causing injury.
EAST: Adult Arrested Person – 7:45 pm. Officers located a 38-year-old male suspect who had a warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody without incident.
NORTH: Adult Arrested Person – 8:27 pm. A 34-year-old male suspect was present on the premises of an apartment complex despite having bail conditions banning him from the property. The suspect was arrested for bail jumping.
MIDTOWN: Disturbance – 10:03 pm. Officers responded to a residence where the 23-year-old female suspect was intoxicated and became combative with friends. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting, and battery to LE.
