The information provided below is about some of the calls officers responded to over the last twenty-four (24) hours. Most narratives represent early and preliminary information that was gathered from those in the field who were actively working the cases. In many instances, facts and circumstances, even the type of crime listed, can change as the investigation unfolds.
From 6:00 a.m. on 06/27/2024 through 6:00 a.m. on 06/28/2024, MPD received 509 calls for service. This number does not include parking complaints or 911 misdials. A breakdown of the calls for service per district is as follows: Central (97), East (101), Midtown (77), North (86), South (56), West (74), and Other (18). "Other" is used for calls that either do not have a sector or the sector is not in the City. This would be used in the case of one of our officers assisting another law enforcement agency.

WEST: Stolen Auto – 5:34 am. A victim reported that a 32-year-old male suspect stole his vehicle. The suspect returned the vehicle but tried to run from officers. The suspect was arrested for OMVWOC and resisting.
SOUTH: Mental Health Conveyance – 9:03 am. Journey Mental Health requested that officers assist with an emergency detention. Officers responded to a local hospital and placed a man into protective custody and arranged transport to a mental health facility.
WEST: Check Person – 11:04 am. Journey Mental Health requested that officers attempt to locate a man for a Chapter 51 return. Officers were unable to locate the subject.
SOUTH: Suspicious Person – 11:17 am. A caller to dispatch reported two subjects near the intersection of W Wingra Dr and Baird St who were stripping copper wire they had pulled from a vehicle. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. A 39-year-old female suspect was arrested on a warrant. A 46-year-old male suspect was arrested for possession of burglarious tools.
EAST: Check Person – 12:33 pm. Officers responded to a residence for a woman who was transported voluntarily to the hospital for a mental health evaluation. Officers consulted with Journey Mental Health. Officers transported the woman back home after the evaluation.
WEST: Runaway Juvenile – 2:24 pm. A father and mother reported their 15-year-old daughter was missing. The juvenile was listed as missing and an ATL was aired.
CENTRAL: Adult Arrested Person – 4:39 pm. Officers observed a 53-year-old male suspect in the 300 block of E Mifflin St who had warrants for his arrest. The suspect was conveyed to the jail.
NORTH: Weapons Offense Shots Fired – 4:57 pm. Officers responded to the 500 block of Troy Dr where a caller to dispatch reported hearing two shots fired. Officers spoke with a man who reported that two juveniles threatened to shoot him. The man ignored the juveniles and as he walked away he heard two gunshots. Officers searched the area but did not locate any fired shell casings or discarded firearms.
CENTRAL: Sexual Assault – 9:35 pm. A woman reported that two acquaintances sexually assaulted her. The suspects have yet to be identified. Investigation continuing.
EAST: Disturbance – 9:57 pm. Officers responded to Prairie Dock Dr where a 39-year-old male suspect had damaged a vehicle with a hammer. The suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct while armed and damage to property.
CENTRAL: Trespass – 10:17 pm. Officers responded to the 100 block of W Wilson St for a 53-year-old male suspect who was trespassing. The suspect was arrested and charged with resisting and trespassing.

CENTRAL: Trespass – 4:12 am. A caller to dispatch reported she heard noises in her residence and discovered a stranger going through her refrigerator. The 44-year-old female suspect was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and trespassing.
